It's well made and very good. Fits in our freezer nicely (though our freezer is quite big)- we didn't use the elaborate cover- it seemed to work fine without it. I have only used for cold as for heat I'd much rather use a hot water bottle.I baught a few of these to help with Hip Bursitis. Being on the hip, bit of a pain to hold in place but the bag with the large elestic band helps to hold it in place.Personally i have found in the bag doesn't give as immediate releif. They don't seem to last very long either but i think thats down to their thin size, not enough thermal mass. other side if you have more mass it would be heavier and more dififcult to hold in place so i guess it's a good comprimise. With a few of them a just keep swapping them out.Good quality. For example, wrapped in a towel and placed in a pillow case is makes a fine cool pillow for headaches. And it's big enough to be applied to almost any part of the body.The elasticated Velcro straps to support let it down. The way they're attached means that it's only possible to hold it in the upright position on your back. To hold it horizontally I had to remove and reattach the straps. This works, but they're too flimsy to support the weight of the large gel pack properly anyway, so it keeps sliding down your back.
