Solid and sound
Solid. I work offshore and we use these, for years. Covered in salt, dropped, jet washed by mistake, serious. Apart from an old Hitachi these are the one to get hands down and I expect the same.

A wonderful drill/driver especially for females!
I love my new drill/driver! It is not too heavy to use unlike those ones my husband has and comes with a great case containing loads of accessories, including the battery charger, which is so practical rather than having lots of separate boxes to store/find. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

Makita quality
Superb quality drill as you'd expect from Makita. All of the switches and dials on the drill are very ergonomic and easy to use.The battery will last for about 20 minutes of non stop drilling on the highest speed and torque settings. In reality, this is more than enough time as it's very rare that you are required to drill non stop and also using the screwdriver function on the lower speed helps conserve battery massively. The battery takes just less than an hour to fully charge from empty.and as this kit comes with spare battery it should mean that you nevre find yourself in a position where you have no battery available. The bits and accessories that the kit comes with are very high quality and well chosen. I haven't encountered a job yet where I haven't had the right bit. That being said, I would class myself as an 'enthusiastic DIYer' so there are limits to the types of jobs that I will do. The quality of the drill/screwdriver bits is very high. I've used one screwdriver bit for the majority of my jobs. I'd estimate that I've screwed/unscrewed 500 screws with this bit. The bit does show signs of wear but it's clearly nowhere near the end of it's life - I would guess that it could do thousands more screws before it's binned. One thing to note is that although the description says 74 bits, this does not mean 74 different bits. Some of the more regularly used screwdriver heads are duplicated in the kit - although I see that as a positive personally. All in all this is a fantastic bit of kit - highly recommended!

Excellent drill
Battery life fantastic and works really well. Very well balanced and easy to use.Biggest gripe is the tools in the case are extremely difficult to remove and replacing in the plastic grips is even harder. Bad designed case.

It's pricey but damn is it worth it.
My last drill was a crummy £20-30 (don't even think it had a brand name of any kind) one that served me well in my last residence where odd jobs that needed doing were few and far between. The price for me personally was a little eye watering but I wanted serious quality and that's exactly what I got. The precision and accuracy that this drill gives you, in my experience, is amazing. The tolerances on all the hardware is so good that sometimes it can be annoying :). By that I mean all the parts in the box are so tight and packed in that it's hard to get parts out sometimes. This is a minor criticism for this drill set though.I'm VERY glad it comes with 2 batteries. Because it's not like the battery running out means the drill slows down, it just stops, it's on then it's off. So make sure to keep one full charged battery ready to go.Also, I'm not sure if the pictures adequately show it, but there's a little clear plastic cover that goes over the included bits and pieces. It's just a nice touch to keep everything tidy.

Not what it seems
So this is a perfectly good cordless drill. Expecting the other items included within the description? Forget it. Expecting customer service to sort the problem out? Forget that too
