Our youngest had already started taking skullcap and valerian in tablet form in early September but that wasn’t enough on its own, as he was still a little jumpy at certain things in strange places. So we started using this spray on his fur when he was going somewhere different and before he went to obedience class. It’s worked extremely well and has helped him immensely. It really relaxes him and he’s able to cope with everyday life as he’s not keen on loud and unfamiliar noises, it’s giving him the confidence to explore his world a little more outside the safety of his home without being terrified of things he’s not seen or heard before. The spray does have a pungent smell when first sprayed but it soon disappears. This isn’t just for dogs but can be used on cats, rodents, horses and birds. The main ingredients of the spray are a special proven blend of Valerian essential oil, blended with Vetivert, Basil Sweet and Sage. As soon as he has peed, praise him like hell. Make a real fuss of him. and you do this every time he makes that sniffing around look. You'll soon recognise it. As long as you praise him, give him with treats if necessary, you'll find he picks up what is expected of him If he's a puppy then he get it within a 2 days at the most. An older dog may take a little longer if for example he's a rehoused dog. Remember the younger the dog is the easier it will be to teach him what you want. Under NO circumstances rub his nose in it or smack him, as that teaches him absolutely nothing except to have a pee when you're not looking! Like a baby he needs time and patience. This works great and stops any fighting. However we have moved house and now have a catio. This means the plug in doesn’t work so well as the pheromones escape outside. Small scuffles were happening and I needed a way to settle the cats quickly. Bought pet remedy as I’ve heard good things. I spray it in their brush and brush them. Works as well as the plug in and is instant. The cats relax and are calm. Only complaint. Wish it would be more of a mist as I could spray on furniture and things without it creating a wet spot. Good value for money, versatile as can use on cats and furniture. I spray in a cloth then wipe sofas and cat trees with it. Appears to last a long time after spraying as I don’t need to repeat more than once every couple of days.
