Very satisfied with this product
Very pleased with this product. Good quality and easy to use. You get the most benefit sitting to laying down but can also use it walking around quite well.

Make sure you buy the right one.
This was the second back wrap purchased. My husband has the blue one and it is absolutely the best thing for back pain. He 'wears' it most days and loves having heat on his back constantly even while walking etc. He has had no problem re-heating the pad (as other reviewers). He has used the back pad most days for a year. He wanted another one just in case the old one wore out, so I ordered another. I chose the black backwrap just for a change. Unfortunately the material on this particular one is made of synthetic material. The backwrap consists of a plastic coated pack that is heated in the microwave, then placed in the belt and fixed round the body. It gets quite warm and not unnaturally makes you sweat. The cover is non-absorbent and will make the sweating worse, plus the pack inside, being plastic, will also cause problems. It will be bad for any furniture it comes into contact with (particularly leather). I tried to return the pack to Amazon but was advised that as it is under 'health and beauty' it could not be returned. They were very helpful and eventually refunded half of the money and said I could keep the product. Actually I want the backwrap that has a cotton cover so was disappointed that I could not return it. Please anyone buying this, or any other item from that department, note it cannot be returned! To sum up. This is a fantastic product if it has the cotton cover (which others have). It would be five stars if the cover was right and also if there was a flap on the extension velcro fixing to stop it catching on jumpers etc. Hotties, apparently, have improved the microwave pack to avoid it melting (see other reviews. Buy a Hottie backwrap, just make sure you buy the right one and intend to keep it.

apart from feeling a bit like a tortoise (which I am sure is purely psychological) ...
I have an aggressive form of MS and have lesions (scarring) on my spinal chord. This gives varying degrees of back pain, stiffness and numbness, especially in the late afternoon, evening and at night. Neurological pain relief is of limited use at these times.. Having exploded two bottle shaped Hottie warmers in the microwave, which was my own fault for overheating them, I needed a replacement. Whilst searching on Amazon, I saw the back wrap and decided to give it a go. Well, apart from feeling a bit like a tortoise (which I am sure is purely psychological) I can barely cope without it. The relief I derive is exceptional. I have bought a spare pack, so one can be heating up in the microwave when the other is losing heat in the wrap. I don't know if you are supposed to, but I am wearing mine in bed. Unlike the bottle shaped Hottie, the wrap moves with you, so the benefit is constant even when turning over in bed. It is still faintly warm in the morning. For anyone suffering neurological back pain, I can strongly recommend this product. However, there are a couple of points to note: 1. The packs require very gentle heating. It is best to heat for 30 seconds, turn the pack over and carry on like this until the maximum time is reached. 2. The heat wrap pack is fairly large. I have bought a second microwave for my bedroom so I can heat up my various packs quickly if I am really unwell and spending time in bed. This microwave is slightly smaller than my kitchen one. The result is that the turntable will not turn with the pack on it. I have overcome the problem by turning the plastic corners of the pack underneath itself, so that the turntable just turns but it is a bit of a nuisance!

A wonderful waist size - and so comforting, heat pad holder.
We use Hottie heat pads all the time - every day - all year long, as we both suffer from back pain. I had one of these given to me many years ago and thought it was time to replace it. This one has a larger waist size so it fits even better than the old one - both of us now! If you are looking for something comforting for back pain and being able to walk around at the same time - this is it. Get an extra Hottie heat pad to go with it. You won’t regret it. I might buy one for my brother as well because it has an extender for the waist and it might be big enough for him - he’s a bit tubby. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Piece of Kit!
I have suffered with lower back problems for at least 2 decades now, I have quite degenerative bone disease in that area and despite keeping myself active and healthy there is no real cure apart from to try and alleviate the symptoms (pain). I'm up against it because I am allergic to Anti Inflammatory drugs but I discovered a long time ago that heat really helps and in the past I have always used traditional wheat cushions to apply this, which work really well whilst you are sitting in one spot or immobile but they are impractical to use whilst moving around, which lead me to try this backwrap and I have to say I am really please, I've used it for the past week and it has been just fantastic. It has got me up and able to get out walking the dog. I've had no issues with heating the pads in the microwave, I have an 800w microwave, so I have been heating the pad initially first thing in the morning when it absolutely stone cold for 2.5 minutes (turning halfway through) then subsequents reheats during the day I have been doing for just 1.5 minutes this is because the pad retains some heat for many many hours after being heated. I'm male and have a 34 inch waist, the wrap fitted me comfortably, there is though an elasticated extension piece that attaches via velcro for anyone that needs a more generous or comfort fit. I hope my review helps someone, if it does not then please remember I am only sharing my own personal and honest experience of the product.

Great for sore backs....expandable belt for comfort also. My husband uses it mainly for heat. This is the second one we have ordered...the first one lasted over 5 years with constant use.

Used it about 3 times since I purchased it. The last time, I put it in my microwave (which isn’t very powerful) for the instructed time and shortly after I heard a loud bang! Needless to say, the thing exploded in the microwave and it looked like a bunch of tissues with this weird gel. 100% do not recommend this product.

I’ve had lower back issues since a teenager and had to deal with literally dozens of these type of heat packs and this one is really revolutionarily simple! Heat the pack in the microwave, slip it into the pocket, wrap it around yourself and Velcro it tight… that’s it! No more using tea towels, elastic bandages or anything else you try to find (out of pure desperation!) to hold the pack to the affected area effectively… no more jamming the heat pack against a pillow or the sofa arm, or alternatively getting yourself into an awkward position just to get the heat where you need it. I am now using it for a rib muscle issue I have and it works perfectly. The heat pack is still pliable enough to bend around my rib area and still be held in position with full contact. The Velcro extension is a welcomed addition for the more ‘portly’ of us (myself included).

Found this very useful for helping with lower back pain and stiffness. Much better than other treatments such as painkillers or spinal manipulation.
