Yes, I have it on a Fluval 306 canister filter and it works perfectly. They look and work so well that you could never tell it was anything other than the factory stocked parts.

Doea it fit fluval 406 ?

Yes it will work. Although the look is slightly different than the original for the 306 the connection is the same over all models from the 304-404 on to the 305-405 to the 306-406 and the 307-407 interchangeable.

Does it fit fluval 404 ?

well it fits the 307/407 so I would think it would work on the older 404, however just pull up the replacement kit for the 404 and make sure it is the same number. They did make a change to the latch and pump handle on the later models, they work better now.
