My old Pantum printer broke down and I bought this Brother printer to replace it. I don't do a great deal of printing so I wanted a simply, easy to use printer which I could just plug in and go. I did not need colour printing - black and white was all I required. Neither did I want to scan or photocopy. Neither did I want to print from my smartphone or tablet - I only wanted to print from my laptop. So something simple and hopefully not too expensive was what I was looking for. This printer seemed to fit the bill. I noted what other reviewers said about it not coming with a USB cable so I retained the cable from my old printer. I encountered an initial problem in that the the printer came with a disc which was there to load the driver. The instructions showed the disc being slotted into a pull out drawer on the side of the laptop. My laptop does not have a drawer. However, I loaded the driver by going onto the Brother website. This worked ok so I was soon up and running. So far I am happy with the printer; It is perfectly sufficient for my needs. I will be interested to see how long the ink cartridge lasts and how much it costs to replace it. At this point I will investigate whether I can use compatible ink cartridges. Overall, however, I am happy with the printer.

I’ve been using ink printers for a long time, but they always ran out too quickly and became expensive to maintain. I decided to switch to this printer, and I couldn’t be happier! It lasts for around 1,000 pages before needing a refill, which is a huge improvement. The print quality is excellent, and it handles large amounts of work effortlessly. I’m currently preparing for my GCSE exams, so I’ve been printing a lot of study materials. This printer has been a lifesaver—no more constant refills or worrying about running out of ink at the worst moments. The setup was quick and easy, and the overall performance has been flawless. On top of that, the service has been fantastic. Delivery was fast, and everything arrived in perfect condition. If you need a reliable, long-lasting printer, I highly recommend this one!

Not a bad little printer, the text is ok , not super dark but perfectly usable for domestic activities. The cartridges are cheap too.

Great little printer at a very good price, Set up was a doddle even for a 80 year old, To save time I had already Downloaded the full and latest driver/software package (37MB) on to my desktop from the Brother website the morning before the printer arrived, I also used my original USB lead off my now defunct old printer, all up and running/printing within 15mins, Considering the price I was surprised, Toner easy to fit, Quick in operation, Quite, Print quality ideal for my needs, very small footprint, what’s not to like, all in all a very good buy indeed. NOTE: Some people seem to jump in without doing any research at all before buying, For instance Printers aren’t supplied with USB cables anymore so make sure to order one when purchasing your printer they are only about £5, Cost out the price of toner/inks first, Any supplied installation CD will be old/out of date, So download the latest up to date drivers etc direct from the manufacture's website, Read good and bad comments then make up your own mind, Little things like this and researching first will make your purchase and installation journey easier.

Don't bother with this printer. We ordered it last year in February, and it worked fine at the beginning. Until we had to change the toner cartridge... the printer complained that it wasn't an original Brother cartridge (which it was) and refused to start printing again. We tried another original cartridge with same result. I contacted Brother and they replaced the printer right away (this was in May). The new one worked fine until we had to change the toner. The same thing happened, it refused to start working again. I eventually managed to get it reset with a sequence of button presses. Fast forward a good few months and guess what... yep, Brother's toner DRM struck again after changing cartridges. This time I couldn't get it reset. I contacted Brother as the printer was less than a year old after getting it replaced in May. They refused to do anything as the warranty started with the original purchase date in February, and did not start over with the replacement. I was told that it's only a £30 printer anyway and to just get a new one. Really? First off, it was a £40 printer, and then we had purchased several new cartridges which we couldn't use. Once you insert a new cartridge and it fails, you can throw it out and start over with a new one hoping that one will work. So we wasted about half a dozen cartridges since original purchase. This was the last Brother printer I ordered!

I only need black and white. Ink jet cartridges are expensive. Cartridges for this laser printer are very easy to buy and relatively cheap. The printer is basic. One side only, needs a lead to connect to computer or phone but it's reliable and fast enough for home use. Economical way to print limited runs in black and white. I had the WiFi version of this for 4 years but the drum started to fade, it was the same price to replace the drum or start again with this printer esp as cartridges I had fit both printers.

For a basic printer that does black single sided text which is all I wanted it for, it is excellent. I expected it to be quite slow, but it's more than quick enough. My only problem is that i put in thicker paper (80gsm) and its rollers were a bit firm and left roller lines in two tracks down it. after putting a few sheets together they disappeared. The quality of the printed text is excellent. Not used it for pictures or anything so can't comment. Its compact when all folded away, but you have to keep your paper elsewhere as there is nowhere to put it in the printer when the front tray is folded up. Perfect for me as I wanted it to not take up space on a desk until I wanted it. You get drivers, but I just plugged it into the USB and it worked straight off plug and play on a Mac air 2011. Replacement cartridges are not expensive, I hope it will do the reported 1000 pages at least.

A basic toner printer that works well for domestic use. It can print a lot of sheets before the toner runs out, I got about 1000 prints out of it before having to replace. I suggest going for the Brother official toner cartridge (sells on Amazon) as i've read some reviews that the aftermarket ones sometimes stop being recognized by the printer don't produce as many prints. You literally get what you pay for with this printer, it's not as loud as people are making out on other comments and it doesn't print slow at all, it's fairly fast. But yes it doesn't come with a USB so i'd suggest ordering one of those at the same time...which are only about £1, so i don't know why people are moaning about that issue. The real problem I have with this printer is print quality and paper wrinkling. If you're printing a letter or something bog standard, it's great! However I use it to print my lecture slides for university and some of the images or smaller text don't get printed to a good quality, even if you increase this in the printer settings. Also it's worth noting that this printer it black toner only, and will not print in colour. If you're printing one-sided sheets it's fine and I have little complaints with, however it does not print double sided, so if you want this feature you have to manually take the paper out and flip it over once the first print run has completed. Now this is fine, the software tells you when to do this and exactly how to insert the pile of paper which it has just printed on one side. The issue arises when it starts printing on the other sides of the paper, which have already been through the printer once and have become warm and slightly changed shape. Every now and again, no matter how I put the paper into the print tray, it wrinkles the paper so bad that I have to print that page again. This only happens to one or two sheets in a print but it's incredibly annoying, and the only reason for this which I can think of, is to do with the heat slightly distorting the paper. All in all not a bad every day domestic printer. Cheap, easy to set up, easy to use, doesn't come with a printer USB cable, but prints fast and isn't as loud as people are making out in the comments.

Doesn't come with a cable, so I am ordering one separately. Unfortunately I cannot test the product just yet.

Bin echt zufrieden mit dem Drucker. Als Studentin drucke ich ziemlich viel und er läuft seit über einem Jahr ohne Probleme. Die Kartuschen sind angenehm günstig, was man im Studium wirklich merkt 😅 Besonders praktisch finde ich, dass man ihn vorne zusammenklappen kann – perfekt für kleine Plätze im Studentenwohnheim. Trotz der kompakten Größe ist die Druckqualität super und ich habe locker schon über 3000 Seiten damit gedruckt. Würde ihn definitiv nochmal kaufen.

Perfecta para imprimir muchas hojas de texto o imágenes de media calidad en blanco y negro. Si la necesitas para imprimir documento y ahorrar en tinta es tu impresora. Ocupa poco espacio para ser láser y más que aceptable calidad de materiales. Aunque no trae cable usb quien no tiene uno por casa o lo compras en el chino que son 3 euros!! Por el precio que tiene se puede perdonar este defecto. La he conseguido conectar a mi router livebox y puedo imprimir con el portátil sin cable conectado a ella. Vamos que si la vas a poner cerca del router cómo es mi caso, configuras la conexión y tienes una impresora Wifi. 3 meses de uso moderado y ningún problema, todavía me dura el tóner de cortesía que trae.
