EXACTLY what I needed
I have like 5 alarms (in addition to this watch), and was still somehow sleeping through them (?) It is soooo much harder to sleep through this “shock watch” (the sound could be louder, but not really why I bought It). If you’ve ever used a TENS unit, the “shocks” are very similar to that (minus the stickers and wires). I included a photo of the inside of the watch that shocks / vibrates. If you have issues getting up to standard alarms, I highly Recommend. It’s a bit of an investment (but cheaper than losing your job from oversleeping). I also LOVE the app. (I haven’t had to pay for it or subscribe - if you want the community aspect and challenges there may be a fee, but I’m able to access the alarms and wake up features I need). Last 2 photos are one of my alarms. You can set it to make you scan a QR code (you’ll have to print it out and put it somewhere), do jumping jacks, or do a puzzle on the app. I’ve only used the puzzle, but it has a few different types of puzzles it randomizes (they help wake your brain up a little bit). Next 2 options are preventing you from snoozing, or you have it zap you again when you snooze. Light sleep tries to wake you up during a lighter sleep cycle. Escalating alarm helps with battery life and incremental gets louder or increases the zap ⚡️until you wake up. Smart alarm makes sure you didn’t fall back asleep by checking to see if you’re moving; if you don’t move within 5 minutes the alarm goes off again. All are optional (& free / with the cost of the watch). You can also set the amounts of the volume, zap level, and vibration levels from 0-100%. I usually use between 70-80% (with the escalating alarm). The shock watch also has an option for bad habits (like skin picking/smoking). You can set it to shock, beep, or vibrate if you raise your hand up (near your head). That’s also optional, it works okay (not really what I bought It for) but I’d like to see an option to maybe “train” it to alert you in a certain position or a certain amount of time maybe. Overall, I love It; I am Still employed. I love the purple color, and the shock part definitely works. I did want to point out that my wrists are TINY (~6 inches); the smallest notch is slightly tight, but I usually use the 2nd smallest, so may not work as well if you have child-sized wrists like me lol but all in all 10/5 ⭐️

Definitely works!
This is absolutely awesome! You can adjust the shock intensity, vibration and sound intensity. I personally tested every level up to 100. It almost feels like something bites you and it stings but your still okay. I keep my vibration at 50 and my shock intensity at 75%. You get a beep sound then you have to grab your phone and do whatever option you chose, whether it be a puzzle, scanning a QR code or jumping Jack's. I keep mine on puzzle lock and it will get your mind focused to figure the puzzle out or you get shocked again lol oh and I just realized today it also comes with a strapless lock, thats what the little purple thing is. I also ordered a magnetic silicone watch band from Pavlok so I can adjust it faster and more comfortable when sleeping. Now the app itself is great but the watch does unfair constantly, so right at bedtime I always open the app and make sure its paired and leave the app open and then just lock my phone, and it stays paired this way throughout the night. Overall this has been great and its waking me up on time and I can see overtime eventually im gonna wake up before it shocks me so I can avoid being shocked. This is 100% worth it, I have tried all kinds of methods from vibration bands, those loud shaking alarm clocks, but many other things and I always either sleep through it or just shut it off. And I may need to go back to the original band as that one is harder to take off when half asleep lol

Great for individuals who have a hard time waking up to sound alarms
A more expensive purchase for me for sure, but absolutely worth it. I have struggled for a very long time being able to wake from deep sleep. I have never been successful with sound alarms and knew I needed to invest in a more reliable device/method. I love this watch. The set up with the app on my phone was very streamlined. Even when my device disconnects, it reconnects on its own making it incredibly reliable. I think it is supposed to be marketed for an everyday use as well, but has no other features for everyday use. I think it would be great to have even just a digital clock on the watch face. I only wear it when sleeping because it does not have any beneficial use to me personally outside of that. The watch band is comfortable and setting up alarms is a super easy process. I have never had any issues with any of the features that I use it for. I have had mine for about two years now and it still works as well as it did the day that I bought it.

Unreliable junk
It's junk. I can't figure out why this thing is so expensive because it can't be made of anything good. I have $25 Bluetooth earbuds that have better connectivity than this thing. It worked waking me up exactly one time when I managed to pair it to my phone (Pixel 6) with difficulty. This thing will constantly fail to connect until you finally get it to go through one time (on a miracle). Problem is, it constantly disconnects itself. So, every time you go to bed you have to go into the Pavlok app and re-sync the thing to get it to work. However, even if you do that you are rolling the dice that the thing won't randomly disconnect itself from your phone in the middle of the night and fail to wake you up in the morning because of it. The whole point of this watch is to reliably wake up heavy sleepers and it can't even do that. It's useless without the app and it has no screen (despite it's price) so you have to rely on some light system on the side of the watch to determine what state that it is in. The connectivity of this thing is so bad that it now won't even pair to my phone at all (see video). It constantly just fails on "syncing alarms" (of which I only have one). I tried all their troubleshooting steps of forgetting the device in Bluetooth settings and trying to pair it over and over again but nothing works. I have the watch plugged in and sitting right next to my phone and this thing still can't connect. Now, imagine this thing working from over 10 feet away (not happening). I can't think that my phone is the problem as I have several other Bluetooth devices connected to it without any issues (a galaxy watch, Anker Bluetooth earbuds, and Razer Bluetooth headphones). I would give it a higher star rating because it isn't uncomfortable to wear and it can shock you to wake you up however since it can't even perform the one basic function it was created for I can't give it anything other than one star. I'm going to try to return it as it's junk that can't be relied on. It's basically useless at this point since it can't pair with the app on my phone. I'd rather it not end up in a landfill or worse in the ocean where it chokes out some poor sea turtle, but honestly, I don't think it could even manage to do that right.

An investment you won’t regret
Life saving investment. My first semester in college I struggled to wake up on time. When I did wake up on time, it took me quite some time to get going and I felt tired/ groggy all day. So, before this semester started, I invested in the Pavlok Shock Clock 3. This device never fails to wake me up and get me going in the morning. Between the sound, the vibration, and the zap, my mind wakes up immediately and is ready to conquer the day. The second best feature of this item is the built in wake up options. Instead of turning off your alarm with a button, this item has you choose from: jumping jacks, QR Code, or a puzzle. These choices actively force you to get out of bed and get your body/ brain moving to turn off the alarm (or you keep getting zapped every so often). The first thing people think is the zap will hurt. It doesn’t hurt but it definitely is enough to wake you up. If you are like me who oversleeps on his alarm, or you just simply can’t wake up without feeling groggy all day, this is a great investment for you. The price seems off putting, but it’s completely worth it!

Amazing for Deep Sleepers - Actually wakes you up
This product works amazing for me. I have tried many things in the past (alarms every 5 minutes, runaway alarms, sunrise /SAD alarms, puzzle alarms, loud radio, traditional bells, etc..) and nothing has every consistently worked for me. I can sleep through all of that. This worked for me because auditory and visual stimulation don't wake me up, but physical movement does. I found out about the type that shakes the bed, but I share a bed and didn't want to disturb my partner with the bed shaking. The band wasn't comfortable at all, so I got a replacement band and it works great. It's definitely heavy on my wrist, so that's something I just try to deal with (it's worth knowing that I'll wake up on time). There is a feature that checks using your movement to see when you are in a light sleep starting about 30 minutes before your alarm is set for. This feature has been super helpful because when it wakes me up, I'm not too groggy to stay awake usually. I also like that you can set the alarm to start with buzzing, then a beeping, then go to the shock feature. I typically wake up enough to start turning off the alarm before it gets to the shock feature, and usually before the beeping starts. My partner is never woken up by the buzzing, but the beeping does sometimes wake them up, depending on how loud I set it. I like that you can adjust and test beforehand how much of a shock it gives so it isn't too much, just enough to annoy you awake (or more if you need that). The shock feels a bit like a tens unit (for muscle pain relief), and I didn't feel anything until it got to 50% shock. The alarms are easy to make and have lots of helpful features [shock when pressing snooze, getting more annoying when ignored, doing jumping jacks, you can print off a qr code and put it somewhere in your house to scan, do various math puzzles, etc.]. The app is kind of slow sometimes. For instance - when I go to turn off an alarm, it takes a second to load the screen, but the alarm continues on my wrist. It will also take a few seconds at least to allow you to do anything else on the app right after dismissing an alarm (possibly to keep you awake). Overall, the best alarm I've ever had. I am no longer afraid to try to sleep on nights that I have to get up early or by a very specific time, because I know my alarms will actually wake me up.

Mixed Results with Shock Functionality, Mediocre App
Pros: - Effective shock functionality when it works - Easy setup and "set it and forget it" operation Cons: - Shock may not be intense enough to wake up some users - Subpar performance of the accompanying app - Limited usage of the app due to reliance on basic functionality Summary: The Shock Clock 3 offers mixed results with its shock functionality as a wake-up mechanism. While it can be highly effective when it successfully wakes you up, some users may find the shock intensity insufficient. The accompanying app falls short in terms of performance, but its limited usage may not significantly impact the overall experience due to the "set it and forget it" nature of the device. One of the advantages of the Shock Clock 3 is its ability to deliver an effective wake-up experience with the shock functionality. When it does work as intended, the shock can be powerful enough to wake you up promptly. However, a downside is that the shock intensity may not be intense enough for all users, and it may fail to wake them up consistently. Individual preferences and sensitivity to stimuli may vary, so it's important to consider personal wake-up requirements before relying solely on the shock feature. The accompanying app, unfortunately, falls short in terms of performance. Users may experience subpar functionality and encounter issues during usage. However, since the device can be set and forgotten without relying heavily on app features, the impact of the app's limitations may be minimized. In summary, the Shock Clock 3 offers mixed results with its shock functionality as a wake-up mechanism. While it can be highly effective for some users, others may find the shock intensity insufficient. The app's performance may be subpar, but its limited usage may not significantly affect the overall experience due to the device's straightforward operation. TL;DR: The Shock Clock 3 provides mixed results with its shock functionality as a wake-up mechanism. While effective for some users, others may find the shock intensity insufficient. The accompanying app's performance falls short, but its limited usage may not significantly impact the overall experience since the device can be easily set and forgotten.

Wish I Had This Decades Ago!
Most mornings, I pop out of bed before the shock comes. Mine is set at 50% and it feels like the brief pain and irritation of a non-serious bug bite or sting. I believe I have the alarm sound and vibration at 50% as well. So there’s plenty of room to step it up if I begin to slip - though I don’t see that happening! I’ve only been using it two weeks, but it’s been life changing! I use the smart alarm function that wakes you around the time you set and aims for when you’re already stirring (rather than when you are dreaming in REM sleep or comatose in Stage IV deep sleep). I believe it gauges this pretty accurately because of how easily I wake. I am getting an Oura ring in the next few days so I will soon know for certain how accurate it is! Like many in this thread, I have struggled to wake up in the morning my entire life. This is the first resource that has made me feel in control - which is such a powerful and positive feeling after feeling so damn helpless for too long! In the beginning, as I was learning how to open my app and complete my puzzles to wake up, I would end up getting shocked simply because I took too long because I was unfamiliar with the process! That was a bit frustrating! But I know the deal now. The puzzles do change from day to day so you have to think to complete them and turn the alarm off, which really does help you to feel awake. It’s nice that there’s 3 choices for waking activities: puzzles, jumping jacks, or the QR code. Again, I’m glad I can switch it up if the puzzles become ineffective. As everyone else points out, why doesn’t this watch-looking thing display the time! It would definitely make sense and doesn’t seem cost prohibitive to add! If you are someone who is struggling to get to school or work in the morning than you owe it to yourself to try this and see if it gives you back control! People say how easy it is to take off the watch and that that is a drawback of the product. I disagree. I wouldn’t want to have to wake up earlier in order to take of some confusing contraption! And, for this to work, you must be invested in wanting to wake up on time! If you aren’t, nothing will help! You couldn’t just strap it on an unwilling teenager. The watch doesn’t magically make you a morning person, but if you have the will, this is the way! I haven’t considered using it for any behavioral modifications yet. I am a smoker so maybe I’ll eventually pair a shock with having a cigarette in the future, but one thing at a time! And I do believe in using positive reinforcement wherever possible! As do the experts. The issue with using this for behavioral modification is that you have to learn to modify your behavior to incorporate this resource into shaping your behavior. It will only ever be as effective as you are. That’s why I think it’s helpful to think of it as a resource or tool. (I was a Biopsychology and Cognitive Science major at the University of Michigan and was published in the Journal of Behavioral Brain Research as an undergraduate, so I have knowledge and expertise in this area).
