If you want privacy & to keep natural light go for this
In my opinion this is better than frosted glass and much cheaper. The rooms are as bright as is I’m not using the film and it gives total privacy. It was easy to apply although we did it was a team of 2. Clean the windows, dry them, cut the film, spray water onto the film and then two of us positioned the film on the panes. We then used a squeezey to push out any air pockets. It wasn’t hard or time consuming and it’s stayed up well. A neighbour who’s just spent a fortune on new blinds commented that they wish they had bought some of this film instead. Obviously if you wish to look out of the window you'd need to remove the film, which would be more hassle than blinds. But it’s perfect for what we needed.

Great quality, requires some skill and patience
This is the 3rd roll that I buy. I first bought it some years ago to use on a rented house for privacy. I'm now renting a flat and decided to buy it again. I am not the most patient person in the world and perhaps I lack the skills but I find it a bit challenging to attach it on my own, I feel like 2 hands are not enough. It's doable but ended up with tiny bubbles which could perhaps be prevented but I ran out of patience. When I have another set of hands for help, there are no bubbles left, but it still takes effort to make sure it's straight. The corners are a pain in the rear as they don't seem to stick on the glass properly but it's hardly noticeable. I love the end result anyway and I absolutely love the thickness and texture of it. It gives great privacy without losing brightness. I bought it before, bought it again and will definitely continue buying it in the future.

Very effective
Really easy to apply, works well even better than described, says on the instructions that during the evening when inside lights are on outsiders can see in, but this isn’t the case it’s still impossible to see inside!

Good but makes your house VERY dark.
It somewhat works. However please be aware that this makes your house constantly dark. It feels like your house is constantly at 4:30pm in December when it is starting to get dark. Doesn't matter how sunny/bright it is outside, you will still have no sunlight coming in. I have had to sit with lights and lamps on all day meaning that people can now see into the house from outside as its bright inside. I have always had some form of mirror film on my windows and yes it does make it slightly darker but this is very strong stuff. It is super easy to install, but I will be removing and replacing with something not to dark as I feel like i'm living in a morgue due to how dark and depressing its made my house feel.

Good quality! Recommend
Why did you choose this product over others?: I got this for my front door. It’s exactly as advertised. If there’s more light inside it will be more noticeable inside. However, during the day with light on, you need to be very close to see inside. I would have mounted on large window but it would stop the rays to heat inside. It seems to retain the heat inside as well. It’s useful if you’re looking to keep the heat away or retain it inside and want privacy. To mount it is a bit tricky if windows aren’t properly cleaned because any grease left will be visible afterwards. So it’s very important to follow all the instructions provided, step by step, but note below. I degreased first the window, then sprayed plenty of water. Removed the cover foil and applied the film on the window. Please note that I don’t recommend using a card as recommended in the instructions! It will leave permanent marks on the film. I used a squeegee and was easy to stick it. Make sure you apply plenty water before using the squeegee because it will make wrinkles otherwise. I had to throw away 2 films because of insufficient water. Third one was perfect though. If you need to go again in some spots, use again plenty water and there will be no wrinkles. Quality: Excellent quality, as advertised. Effect: Mirror effect as advertised. Heat retention: It seems to retain the heat and reflect the heat from sunlight. Looks great: It looks as expected.

Good Opacity, Adhesion, Sizes Available & Reusable (good if you install incorrectly the first time!)
I purchased a roll of the white window film 75cm x 400cm to cover some windows in my conservatory, to provide a) some privacy from neighbours and b) to help reduce glare and UV from the sun. I decided to trial some on the door in the conservatory, as this is a plain glass pane and looks onto my neighbours. I thoroughly cleaned the window with some washing up liquid mixed well with Zoflora and water in a spray bottle and dried the window (not that I needed to of course but wanted to ensure it was completely clean before applying the film). I didn't want the full pane to be covered as we have a dog and I like to see when he's sat at the door so decided to have a gap. I can't cut straight so decided to put a wave in but kept the straight edge at the top. I can vouch for the reapplication being sound because when I applied it the very first time, I didn't put it on straight! So had to take it all off and reapply it. Application: I used clean water from a spray bottle to wet the window and peeled off the clear backing and placed the film onto the window and it clung instantly. I couldn't find the applicator I had previously bought so use an old bank card to smooth out the water and bubbles. it even clung to the PVS window frame. I did notice a few tiny bubbles appearing after application, but quickly realised that these areas needed a bit extra water as they had cleared when water was pushed through the area. These have been up over a week now and as I hadn't cut off the excess and is still covering the rubber seal on the window, I have noticed that it is starting to peel away from them. So will just go back and reapply some water and trim off the excess and see what happens after another week. I have just read that these window films aren't suitable in direct sunlight, yet say that it helps reduce the UV from the sun... I have installed this window film on a window that is in direct sunlight and have no issues with it at the moment (however, I can't see the edges as I have my tumble drier in from of the window, yes glorified utility room is my conservatory, and not from choice!). My small concern at the moment is, how to clean the windows/window film when they get dirty, because the surface not attached to the window is not smooth and will definitely attract dirt (seeing as I have tumble driers in there and it's a very old conservatory!), and previous experience with these types of surfaces have proved a little difficult to get clean. A good thing about these are that they are reusable and have no adhesive stickiness so won't really get stuck to itself should you end up dropping it towards itself. Dog hairs however love this! The static caused when removing the clear cover is amazing what it will suck to it and stick! Water does help remove this but ideally, keep pets away whilst installing! A little downside to these is the amount of water to be used and ends up all over the place when squeezing out, so get some good absorbent items to help mop it up as you squeeze it out. Otherwise, really is quite easy to install. I have used some colourful D-C Fix window film on a different window and even though they are less messy, can cause an issue if they end up getting stuck to itself... and I haven't found any D-C Fix window film that covers an are like this one. My window pane is 72cm high so this covers them perfectly after being trimmed after installation. I did need my husband to help me install this on the bigger windows though , as the window is too wide and high to apply this on my own. Ending note: I need to buy more as the roll just didn't quite fulfil the requirements (2 large windows and a door covered, need to cover another large window and 3 small windows)... so yes, I will be buying this again!
