Maglite Mini AA LED Torch

I now have 4 LED torches - this one and 3 LED Lensers (2 A5's and a P7). Even the tiniest of them, the A5, which is not much bigger than my little finger and runs off a single AA battery is brighter even than my a D cell Maglite. The 2 AA LED Maglite is incomparable to the old bulb version and massively more powerful even than the 2 D cell (bulb). In fact I think it's just as bright as the Lenser P7 which surprised me. The build quality is decent but not really in the same league as the P7 which is a much chunkier, hardier beast, but at less than half the price I am not complaining. In fact, unless you really need a Pro level torch like the P7 I'd not bother and buy this Maglite instead because you get as much light and most of the build quality for half the price plus some potentially useful features like the automatic flash SOS option which could be useful for walkers who find themselves in difficulty.

Well designed. Extremely well made with high quality materials. Easy to use with multi functions, including an SOS flashing feature. Long battery life (included!!) due to the use of low powered but extremely bright LED's. Comes with a high quality belt pouch so is perfect for work! I can't recommend this torch enough. It will last for many, many years so is worth the premium price you pay.

When you live in the middle of the countryside where street lights are unheard of, a good torch is useful. When you live in the middle of the countryside where street lights are unheard of and you are female, a small handbag-sized torch - especially a red one - becomes more than useful, it is an absolute necessity. To my delight, not only is this torch handbag-sized and bright, it's also nice-looking (red) and a pleasure to carry. A wonderful torch, a marvelous gift for any woman (or man) and the ideal handbag accessory! I wouldn't want to live without it.

High quality little torch, very bright and durable

Not going to compete with the big boys of the torch world, but an excellent result for what is little more than a pen light and with the Maglite built to last quality. A true pocket torch.

The Maglite AA led is the only flashlight i purchase now and i have had a few types and makes over the years, the thing i like is the build quality, the fact i can use quality rechargeable batteries is a big bonus and i always purchase a pocket clip to carry it in my overall pocket, parts are available for them as well, i used to buy Led Lenser but quite frankly i always had problems with flickering and the battery holders always disintegrate after a while.

High quality, very bright torch. Multiple power modes for battery saving, but even 10 hrs at full power will get through the night shift. Low power is adequate for indoor use. AA batteries are very easy to obtain as they are sold everywhere. Belt pouch and alkaline batteries included. Rechargeable batteries also work fine in this torch. Only thing missing is there is no lanyard, but there is a metal lanyard hole in the tail and you can buy lanyards from Amazon.

I'm also a lighting technician (amateur though!) and bought this to replace my previous non-LED maglite. It's so much brighter which makes a huge difference. I've dropped it countless times, lit my way through theatres and over rocks and through vegetation, held it easily in my hand or teeth or included (basic but practical) belt pouch, and not once yet needed to change the batteries! The only thing I'm not sure about is the flashing modes, which seem unnecessary and prevent you from sending morse code (other than the SOS mode). It's not all that pricey, and if you consider the savings due to longer lifespan, it's certainly better value than a cheap torch that won't last anything like this will.
