By far my favorite and best headlamp to date. My go-to EDC.
Love, love, love this headlamp. Thinking of buying another one while they still sell them. I bought it primarily for backpacking and camping but have found that I use it around the home and in the shop even more. It has become my go-to EDC (everyday carry) headlamp for sure. Pros: -USB C rechargeable w/ rubber cover to keep moisture out -lightweight -fantastic light output that's fully customizable -simplistic 2 button design -surprisingly comfortable stretchy cord fits on head well and is adjustable -stretchy cord is reflective to easily find the headlamp at night or even off of moonlight in the tent Cons: -I wish battery life were a little longer. I would trade a bit more weight for a bit longer battery life. That being said, this headlamp is known for its stellar battery life. So don't fret about it too much.

Bright, light, affordable - highly recommend
Have used this headlamp for 10+ sunrise hikes and some late night hikes so far. The dimmer white light setting is enough for myself when hiking, and bumping up to a brighter setting one or two other people can get by from my headlamp. The buttons take a little getting used to but work very well and once you learn what they do, are quick to use. Battery life is good but I would recharge it after hikes. Great value for the price since its an affordable unit. Very light as well

Great quality. Easy to carry with you.
This LED headlamp has become an indispensable tool in my everyday carry arsenal, and for good reason. With its versatile functionality and compact design, it's proven itself to be a reliable companion in various situations, from outdoor adventures to everyday tasks. One of the standout features of this headlamp is its multiple settings, which allow for customizable combinations of light output to suit different needs. Whether I'm navigating a dark trail or working on a project in low-light conditions, I can easily adjust the brightness and beam type to illuminate my surroundings with precision. What's more, the headlamp packs away easily, making it a convenient addition to my EDC (everyday carry) kit. Its lightweight and compact form factor ensure that it takes up minimal space, yet it delivers maximum utility when needed. Whether stashed in a backpack or kept in my glove compartment, I always have it within reach for any unexpected situation that may arise. One surprising use I've discovered for this headlamp is during my dog's ear cleaning routine. The hands-free illumination provided by the headlamp allows me to see clearly and navigate the delicate task with ease, ensuring that my furry friend receives the care they deserve without any hassle. Overall, this LED headlamp has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and convenience. Its multiple settings, compact design, and versatility make it a must-have for anyone looking to be prepared for whatever life throws their way. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a DIY enthusiast, or a pet parent, this headlamp is sure to become an essential part of your toolkit.

Works great, charge lasts for a many campouts.
Very bright! I bought this for ultralight hiking, but I ended up using it for normal campouts, and for just around the house. It holds up better than the generic headlamps I've bought over the years for this price or more, and unlike some other brands (Husky, I'm looking at you), the rechargeable battery hasn't had any problems. I'm not great about remembering to charge it, but I haven't had any problems with it running out of charge for me on a trip. And at 700mAh, you can recharge this pretty quickly from even a tiny powerbank. It has an IP66 rating, and unlike most of the stuff out there, this actually seems to meet the standard. I've used it in the rain plenty of times with no trouble.

Lightweight and good mode range. Red mode makes tradeoffs
Lightweight and comfortable. The cords support it well, so it stays in place and at the original angle on my head. The dim white setting is plenty bright for most purposes and lasts for ages. When I do need them, such a tricky scramble sections, the settings have very wide and long throw. I also really like that you can get to the red light mode with just one button press. While the lamp does sometimes accidentally get turned on in my pack if I carry it loose, it happens much less frequently than with my previous headlamps, so I would call that a win too. What knocks it down a star is that the (only) red light mode is extremely bright. That can be handy for hiking in the trees, but it's often overwhelming for close work or trying not to blind other people in camp. More critically, in order to get that throw, red mode chows down on the battery. The red light only lasts about an hour and fifteen on a full charge - similar to running it on ultra bright white mode. That's still plenty of time to pick a rose or to finish the last mile or so of a trail, but if you enjoy more serious night hiking, be sure to bring a a good power brick as well as a spare lamp.

Very Lightweight & great value
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have several headlights that cost more than $100. I use them in business as a construction consultant, and also do a lot of backpacking. My go-to headlight is a Fenix HM 65R-T. I like dual beam lights and the Fenix is great but it is much heavier. I count grams for long distance ultralight backpacking. The Fenix is 5oz / 139 grams. This light is 1.6oz / 46 grams. The Fenix is 1500 lumens and this light is 400 lumens. This light is all that is needed in most cases. As a reading light, the nitecore is hands down better because the flood and spot are both very white, whereas the Fenix has a yellow flood and a white spotlight. I ordered one nitecore to check it out. I am so pleased I just ordered 2 more..... One as a back-up and the other for my wife. She was jealous and loves the nitecore for reading in bed at home or on the trail. This really is a great light at a great price. Maybe the best overall deal on the market.

I've had this headlamp for about a month now. It's a solid little piece of gear - I think the battery claims listed on Nitecore's website might be a bit generous; 40 minutes seems to be the runtime at the highest setting. It's also worth noting that due to overheating the headlamp will not remain at its 400 lumen mode - it'll stay there for about a minute before slowly reducing its output. It's still plenty bright - and realistically you'll be using either flood or spotlights interchangeably, as there's not much reason to have them both on at the same time. As far as the red light goes - it's actually a bit too bright in my opinion. It's actually bright enough to hike by on a moonless night - not quickly, and I wouldn't trust it in difficult terrain, but on a flat trail you could absolutely hike using the red light. Overall I'm quite satisfied with this headlamp. It's lightweight, functional (even has an SOS strobe built in, though I hope I'll never use that), and contrary to what many other folks claim has quiteintuitive controls for being a two-button device.

I've been using it for camping so far and I liked it, the "controls/buttons" might not be the most intuitive but it works : it's very lightweight and the "head/light" direction is adjustable so you can adjust it like you want, depending on what you do.
