Bird Brand Natural White Vinegar - 1 Litre

I have recently discovered white vinegar after searching far and wide for a something to take the smell out of my running clothes. I googled ideas on how to get the smell out and came up with this. Now I wash my running clothes twice but the first time I only use 1 cup of white vinegar, then I wash them again using a laundry soap with no fabric softener. WOW it has been the only thing to take the pong out!!! I had to buy the 4 liter bottle because this was not enough. It also works wonders on calcium build up and makes glass look so clean! I cant recommend enough. The ONLY problem is my husband and kids complain when I clean with it because of the vinegar smell. But honestly I can live with that. The good thing is there is no residual smell when the clothes are washed in it.

I got this mainly for cleaning mould and mildew from windows and window frame walls as an alternative to the bleach based products. It smells really strong as vinegar does, but I decided I'd rather breath vinegar than bleach fumes! It does clear mould away, however bleach is better at clearing mould from any nooks and crannies or silicon sealant around baths and basins as it bleaches the colour away where you cannot wipe. You could use an old tooth brush with the vinegar to clear out the nooks and crannies. You don't need to use loads, so perhaps a smaller bottle would have sufficed for my needs.It is very good for cleaning windows and mirrors, leaving them streak and smear free. You can use it to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs. Us e it to bring back the shine to your stainless steel pans (heating a tin of chopped tomatoes in them will also have the same effect!). There are many other uses for this too, like descaling you kettle or steamer, but I haven't tried this because you have to leave it quite a while to work. For my steamer the suggestion in the instructions is one part vinegar to two parts water left for several hours. It is supposed to be good as a pre-treatment for grass and wine stains on clothes before washing, or for removing wine stains on carpets. A useful cleaning product to have in stock!It's not suitable on granite, marble or other stone worktops, sinks or floors as it is acidic and may damage the surface.The smell soon clears, especially if you use some damp kitchen roll to wipe away any remaining vinegar, but to be honest it fades away quite quickly even if you don't. I just wiped the windows with dry kitchen roll after using the vinegar and the smell was completely gone in a few hours.Very pleased with it.

Unlike some others in these reviews, my bottle was successfully delivered intact and without leakage. The packaging was slightly damaged from transit (presumably), but the bottle had been wrapped in bubble wrap and the child-proof cap had stayed on with no leakage. Maybe Bird have learned from past mistakes?As for the product itself, it definitely smells of vinegar so I assume it to be authentic (some other brands are accused of being watered down). The labelling doesn't state the concentration though, but I would bet it's at least 5% based on potency of smell.It strikes me as rather expensive for what it is, but maybe that's just the rate for White Vinegar products. I find them hard to source on the high street in bulk form, so I guess I have to pay the going rate. All in all though, relatively happy with the purchase.

Originally this item was marked as delivered when it wasn’t so I contacted the seller and they offered either a refund or a replacement. Really great product, arrived promptly. Great value for money and good quality. Easy to dilute with water and cleans effectively. Would recommend.

Ok product, white vinegar is white vinegar, but I could barely get it out of the packaging. The black gaffer tape was neigh on impossible to remove from around the lid, anyone with fine motor issues would probably have to give up! That said I would have complained more if it had leaked!

I found it very good for cleaningtaps and cupboards.and for the oven mixed with bicarbonate of soda realy good cleaning agent
