That may be the case with a soft beard but I find that certain areas where hair growth direction varies, several strokes can be required to achieve smoothness. No worse than most others though and tele adverts always show that one easy stroke is all that is required. I just use normal soap when shaving so perhaps a dedicated shaving soap would give better results. Having said that, I find this razor shaves well and one blade does me for 3-4 weeks so it represents good value. The handle has a reasonable grip even when wet, but poor when soapy.
