Useful, durable, and earth friendly!
I never thought I'd like wooden cooking utensils, but maybe that's because I'd mostly seen cheap, porous wood things that looked like they would fall apart in my food. But, I was sick of plastic and wanted to try something new. I am so glad I did. This is so smooth and sturdy. It is my go-to for cooking eggs, chopping up ground meat (especially since it's often partially frozen and I don't want something that will bend), scooping up cookies or biscuits, and scraping anything that gets stuck to the pan, among other things. It did take a little adjustment using something that is completely straight and not with an angled handle, but it really wasn't as challenging as I thought it might be. I've had it for almost 4 years now and it still looks great. I was worried about the upkeep, but it's not a hassle at all. I just give it a quick rinse, scrape anything off with a sponge, if necessary, and dry it after each use, which takes less than a minute. It came with a little scouring pad and directions to buff it occasionally and add a little oil, which I do, but really not that often. I've never paid attention to exactly how often, but it's on the order of months in between. Just when I feel like it's starting to look a bit dull and I have the time. For reference, I don't use it daily as some might, but I do use it multiple times per week. This is definitely a purchase I did not regret and would recommend to anyone. I also love that it was made by an ethical small business in the USA. It feels good to buy a great product from a company close to home that I feel like I can respect.

Great as a gift
I got this as a gift love to cook and that being said making cooking easy and fun is the best ! As soon as I hold it was so soft and great grip works fantastic to scrape the bottom of the pans the color is stunning you can tell it’s great craftsmanship and build to last I may pass it down to my daughter one day! Lots of things now and days don’t last and find a product that you can see the love that was put in to make it is harder to find so thank for reading All of this and for whom ever made it you made me happy!

You'll love it
This is not "just a stick". It is an amazing tool for cooking that feels great in your hands. We bought this as a gift but have and use several of these ourselves. They scrape, chop, stir, and even serve. It is a real, natural wood product. You will need wood oil and will need to stay on top of maintenance to keep yours looking good. Never soak or put in the dishwasher. Wash by hand and fully dry immediately.

Get the bigger one instead
They’re all well made, but the 10” is too small. Don’t waste your time with it. Get the big one instead. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful useful wood scraper
Excellent quality wood scraper. I'm using it as replacement for an old flatish wood spoon. This is the same 13" length and the jaotoba wood is quite attractive. It's also nice that it's made in USA. I'm quite pleased with it.

Great, simple design
We are already big fans of this after just onwing for about a month. It feels very sturdy. The end is tapered enough to slid under eggs and things with just a little wiggle. Not too thick at all. I love that the company has clear care instructions and sends along a little soft brillo to sand down any wood fibers that may raise after washing. It shows they value their work and want it to last for their customers!

Good but not worth the price

Our first spatula broke a corner off on first use, which was disappointing as the product is beautiful. Amazon.au didn’t respond to any of our emails but Annie at Earlywood was super responsive and sent us a replacement immediately, even though they hadn’t fulfilled our order directly. Really appreciate the amazing customer service and look forward to using this lovely spatula.

This is a nice quality utensil that will last. Unfortunately, the one I got was flawed and had a split along the grain on arrival. looks like the grain was at the wrong angle and not lengthwise hence the split. A genuine flaw so can't really complain about the quality and would recommend. returned to company.

The wood is beautiful, it has some reassuring weight to it and the edge is thin so great for flipping. Even came with a scotch-bright. Apparently they also plant trees to keep it sustainable.

A great, really diverse tool; well crafted, highly aesthetic, and just looks really good when coupled with Earlywood's other spatulas and spreader. Apart from knives, they are by far my most used utensils.
