I had one of these before in my old house but this one is much beefier and much more heavy duty. Mounting was easy and it works nicely (the light showing power is not obnoxiously bright but still easy enough to see). The motion is smooth as well. Jut a note on install. When you mount the bracket, the reel will slide on but only from one side and then lock in place. Make sure you prepare for this. I rushed a bit and didn't realize this until I mounter the bracket too close to the garage door rail and I could not slide the reel on without loosening it. Please plan ahead. Once it was on it was a bit tough to tighten the bolts as the reel is rather thick and interferes with screwdrivers. This was my fault but make sur eyou plan ahead.

Retractable cord is a garage must have. Good cord length to plug in allowing better options to install. If power supply cord came out the back it would be better for some install locations.

I’ve mounted this in my garage, between the 2 garage door openers. The power is good, the 3 plugs at the end are handy. The ends are lit up and can easily be found in the dark, if that’s a need. If you don’t need the entire length of cord pulled out, it’s a little tricky. Often I just need about 12’ to get to my bench. But it’s pretty finicky to do this. It doesn’t want to lock in the out position. I have to pull it out several times before it’ll stay out.
