I bought this for my gerbil and my hamster and put them in here at seperate times with various toys and a ball and they love it. Depending on your critter they can escape as it not that high but I have had no problem with mine and they enjoy the run around and freedom it gives. Excellant product that can be shortened if you dont have enough room for it or can be extended if you buy more than one also for inside or outside use. Made very sturdy for small critters like hamsters, gerbils, longtails and mice. I love this product and think it a great idea if you want to give you loving pet a little bit os space to run around and for new pet owners a good way of interacting with your pet to make them tame. This product is not secure and therefore pets should not be left alone in this run but a great product to let your pet enjoy exercise and to explore without the risk of them getting lost in your room- pets should be supervised at all times. Comes in 8 different coloured bars which are simple and easy to attach and take apart. For those worried about height a higher cage can be purchased instead "Trixie Indoor Run 48 × 25 cm, 6 Elements".

The fence panels are separate pieces which means that you can link as many as you need to make a small or large play area. This is a good thing, however the way the panels fix together does not make them secure. You are unable to move the pen once it is assembled, because the whole thing falls apart. So the way the panels fix together needs to be improved. Secondly, our gerbils very quickly discovered that they could climb up the panels, so this is not something that you can leave them in while you pop to the loo!! Therefore the panels could do with being higher. Having said that, I appreciate that they can't be too high otherwise children would find it difficult to put their hands in to interact with pets (and no doubt some pets will climb out whatever the height!). Overall we are happy with it, as it gives our gerbils somewhere to play (outside their home) and the children can interact with them, but it needs better fixings so that it's more secure and can be moved once assembled.

I've had this pen for a while now and I'm really pleased with it. I've got 2 gerbils and it's large enough for them to run around in and for me to add toys and things for them to chew and play with. It's really quick and easy to put together, the panels just slot together at the edges and if one pen isn't large enough, you could get a second and clip them together to make one, large pen. I'm thinking of doing this myself actually. My only criticism would be that the pen is, perhaps, not quite high enough for gerbils as mine tend to jump up and climb over the top. This isn't a huge problem, and it wouldn't apply to most other small rodents, but it just means you really have to watch gerbils in case they try to escape!

Maybe for one evening it was good Then as soon as our Syrian hamster has found out he could escape it - that was the end! Seems like our hamster goal is to find a way to escape it. No matter how many toys you put it in he is not interested. He will try to climb or go under (yes he could lift it with his teeth then it coms apart !) It takes now about 5/10 seconds Basically pen is not high enough to keep climbers in and no strong enough to stop them from putting it apart ! If you "play" time idea is to keep a guard on you hamster (basically running after it every few seconds then putting this flimsy pen together ) this play pen is you. We need to find something different since I had enough of our little runner being out every 5 seconds. Plus he is not really playing with his "toy" We built BIG playground but all he is focus on is just the flimsy gate and how to get out:(:(:( He thinks it is some sort of game I guess !!

Straight up I will tell you I actually purchased this for use with my Leopard Geckos.. I looked at the photo with the hamster in and thought it may come up a little small for what I wanted. When I received it and set it up however, I was surprised by its large size! I do think this is great value for money on that part. As I have noticed some of my geckos to be rather active, I thought I would get them a little secure, safe place to run about in with no obstacle in their way such as plants, bowls or hides. I was skeptical they might fit through the bars or be able to either push it over or climb out, but no, this is proved not only escape proof for adults, but also my several month old juvenile. I will however caution you to ALWAYS keep half an eye on your pet; they do like to try climbing but are nowhere near as adept as a hamster so may get stuck, etc! If you want to try this, please, please, please locate it close to a warm radiator or use a small thermostated spot lamp! Do not place too close to the heating source so that the metal run heats up. This is because you may not realize if the gecko gets too cold but this will allow it to thermoregulate somewhat, like it will normally do in its vivarium/terrarium/terrainium. Also, put in at least one hide in the middle, just in case it feels insecure. Doesn't necessarily have to be the middle, but far enough away from the sides that it can't use it as a ramp to get out. I never handle/ have my geckos out for more than 15-20 minutes at a time just to ensure I don't change their temperature too much, but they have been known to survive OK without heat for up to four hours or so. But yeah, I found this to be pretty awesome and does the job great! Handy for when it comes to cleaning them out or if they are particularly active and want a proper run around.

I bought one of these for my 3 beautiful gerbils because they didn't seem to enjoy being in their exercise balls (if i put them in it they would just stand still)and i was worried they wern't getting enough chance to run around. This was worth buying. Its very big but if you don't have the space you can make it smaller. my gerbils could probably jump over it if they wanted to so I always sit with them but that just makes it more fun. so far they havn't actually tried because they are too busy playing. I'm really glad I bought it :D

Great idea, bought it as as soon as i saw it. I love the idea of allowing my pet hamster to be able to run freely without having to put him in his running ball. As soon as i got it, i built it easily and quickly with no problems at all. As soon as i finished i let my hamster run about in it. Unfortunately there was one big problem. The Indoor run just wasn't tall enough. My hamster emmediately learnt how to escape from it within minutes of being in it. I tried using it again severals nights but my hamster escaped each time without using anything to climb on. Its such a shame! I definitely was going to buy more to make a much bigger run but i just can't as theres no point. Its such a waste that something that could be really great for my small pets has really big problem. I advise making it higher as i would definitely buy it again, if you do so. It just a shame i wasted money for something that has a massive flaw. May I hope you fix this problem. :(

We bought this for our gerbils so that they could come out of their cage and run around without letting them loose in the house and for the first 2 weeks it was brilliant; they loved coming out and running around. It is also big enough that I could sit inside the pen with them and let them jump on my legs and take seeds from my hand, which was great to help tame them. It's well made, sturdy and easy to put together and take down. However, one of them has now worked out that they can climb the fence if they really try and it won't be long before the other one gets there too. Maybe it would be ok for smaller hamsters but it can't contain our gerbils!
