Saved Us From A Bird Infested Front Door
Okay so I'll be the first to say that birds are great, but when we found a group of 6 camped right above our front door, I knew I had to act quick to deter them before they set up a nest and we had a very messy and poop ridden summer doorstep for the next few months. I quickly did some research and it seemed one of the most humane ways to deter/scare away birds is the use of a fake owl. I came across this product and purchased immediately for next day delivery. And let me tell you, it worked immediately! The birds left when I went outside and then never came back and it's been 2 weeks. The owl looks awesome, seems sturdy enough, and the movement of the head (via wind) definitely adds to the effectiveness I think. Plus, it doesn't look hideous or super fake to where I hate having it perched above our door inside a ledge we have. It actually adds a fun little element that I've seen a few kids point out as they walk by. Overall I'd definitely recommend this product for anyone who is looking to keep birds away from unwanted areas in a humane way. I read it isn't foolproof, but worked for us! I also put a few spikes around it to discourage any birds landing beside it.

Very realistic
I lost a laying hen to a hawk (first one in years) so decided to set up a fake owl in hopes that it would scare the hawk away. So far, no hawk in sight so we will see. As for the owl decoy, I'm quite pleased with it. It's very life like, the colors are what you expect an owl to look like. The head swivels freely both directions but the most striking feature are the eyes. They are a brilliant yellow with dialated pupils. Very realistic! As for sturdiness, I've no complaints there. There is a covered hole at the bottom of the owl to put sand or rocks in so it won't fall over. There are also three holes complete with screws should you wish to attach it to a tree branch, fence, etc. The cost of the owl was less than the cost of losing a good laying hen so I'd say it's a very good value for money

Works!
Works so far. 2 weeks in and I haven't seen a single squirrel. They were eating my apple tree daily and 0 since! Only thing I noticed is the head doesn’t move as much as I thought, even with wind. Moves maybe an inch or so but still effective so far.

Hold onto your feathers... this thing works!
This plastic owl turned my lanai into a pigeon-free paradise! When I first got my hands on this majestic owl, I was skeptical. How could a simple piece of plastic scare away those persistent pigeons? But lo and behold, the moment I placed it on my lanai, magic happened. The pigeons, who once strutted around like they paid rent, spotted the owl and decided to take their talents elsewhere. Now, my lanai is a serene sanctuary where I can enjoy my morning bourbon coffee in peace. The only sounds I hear are the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of other birds who seem to applaud the owl's brave efforts. So, if you're tired of pigeon invasions and their persistent presence, this plastic owl is your ultimate secret weapon. It's not just an ordinary decoration; it's a mighty guardian that strikes fear into the hearts of pigeons and reclaims your territory. Trust me, this owl is the real deal. It's a hero, a friend (in case you don't have any), and a master of pigeon-frightening tactics. Get one today, and prepare to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of pigeons fleeing in terror! His name is Oliver.

1 year update.... Doesn't work!
Update: The owl and snakes are not working at all. I think maybe I felt like they were working last year, but actually by June 6th when I ordered the owl, the baby birds were already close to being out of the nest and that's why I felt like there was an improvement. But here I am, May 21st and it seems worse than ever. 20+ a day landing in or around the pool. This will continue as the momma birds removes the poop to keep the nest clean and my pool just seems like their perfect place to deposit them. I've read they do it bc it disperses the waist more efficiently and keeps predators from finding the nest. Smart on the birds, but I hate them. Starting back at square one! Original from June '23. Last year, I made the mistake of buying a stationary owl, which didn't deter the birds effectively. This time, I opted for the owl with a moving head, and it has made all the difference. Alongside the owl, I strategically placed three lifelike fake snakes in the area. I believe it's the combination of these deterrents that has helped us regain control over our pool patio and skimmer, without being overrun by bird droppings! If you're seeking an effective and aesthetic way to protect your pool from bird-related issues, I highly recommend the owl with a moving head and incorporating fake snakes into your defense strategy. Say goodbye to unsightly messes and hello to a worry-free pool experience!

New pet, not a deterrent at all
Added to keep squirrels and chipmunks off my deck / deck plants. Doesn't work to deter them at all, but I don't mind keeping it.
