The Peltor Kid is designed to reduce the noise level by upto 27dB, so it will depend on the noise level at the show at the wearers location. It is a very hard question to give an honest answer as without knowing this level it may be suitable but it could also lower the level too much making the wearer unable to hear the show. Due to pressurization within an aircraft we would not advocate ear defense I am afraid.If it must be worn do not do so until you are at full altitude. Do not wear whilst descending.

would these fit a small 16 year old?

They would fit a head size up to approximately 52cm. They fit my 6 year old granddaughter who has a large head for her age.
