I have two (actually three bu I'm not counting my A6000) other Sony bodies: A7R4a and A7R5. They are simply too heavy/bulky to haul around on our vacations. It is a superb body. The only caveat is that external flash that fits my other bodies doesn't fit the AC7. And there is a newer and pretty expensive model, AC7II that I didn't see when I bought this body, but you look at it too. Oh, a great advantage of these bodies is that they will take your big E lenses as well as the smaller/lighter lenses. Before you buy this body, do some research. :-)

I do a lot of international travel with high adventure activities dominating my time. I wanted a cage that would be durable enough to survive the rigors of travel while also not being too heavy or size intensive. This has been fantastic in the fact that I can connect anything I need to the rig and it’s never in the way. The door openings and frame locations are very well thought out to where they don’t interfere with ease of use operations. I’ve dropped this thing down mountains, slammed against rocks climbing, and a slew of other intense experiences and my camera body has never faltered.

I needed a cage for adding more accessories to my A7C and since the camera is fairly new, hardly any companies make a nice Rig for it. SmallRig’s made the Rig for exact to the camera body without hindering any of the functions, I can still access my memory card tray and analog plus’s for my audio. There are plenty of screw holes to attach handles, boom mics and flashes to the rig. Feels very sturdy and secured onto the A7C body with 2 screws holding the rig in place on 2 different parts of the rig. I highly recommend for any videographer or even a photographer. I myself love the fact that the Grio from the Rig adds a little more girth to the A7C body grip. I saw SmallRig came out with a new Rig that adds even more grip without attaching more accessories. I would check this company out for sure, they sell all the attachments separately if you don’t have any already 👍🏽👍🏽

I bought this to help not only with attachments to my 7c, but also provide protection and a better grip surface.I use my camera mainly for video so photographers may have a different perspective. First, take the tiny d-rings on both sides of the 7c off. For video users they case constant banging sound any ways. Next remove the tiny screw on the right side of the cage. Then take any lens off the 7c body and mount the body to the bottom screw. Then screw the tiny screw on the right side of the cage to where the d-rings used to mount. That's it.The cage fits like a glove. All functions are accessible. The battery compartments open fully and the battery pops out just fine....not sure why the other reviewers had issues.I was worried that the cage would add too much bulk. But it fits like a glove, looks rather discrete, and adds almost nothing to the size of the camera. What little size it adds is offset by the fact that the bottom of the cage is an arca compatible mount. I often have my camera on a mini tripod and not having to attach an arca plate not only offsets the bulk, but my camera is much more stable when set down on a flat surface. Overall, I love it and would highly recommend it.Couple things...I wish there's built in NATO rails on the top and sides. If you plan to use HDMI or USB connections, theres' no way to get a clamp that fits properly. I've contacted SmallRig and they confirm not only there isn't a compatible model, but also there's no plans to make one. This would kill the deal for me, however, my a7c camera is my portable set up so I don't plan to use an HDMI out often.What's the one flaw? The bottom Arca plate...If you use a Arca clamp that drops in from the top, it's fine. But I have several Arca mounts that necessitates sliding of the base plate in from the side...this is not possible with this cage. Take a look closely at the lower Arca base on this cage, the lower left corner kicks up...so you can't slide it into an acarca clamp.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent Product just like all of the small rig products. Fits perfectly with easy access to everything including the battery. I read some reviews saying you can't take the battery in or out, they must have bought the wrong cage or put it on backwards. The cage along with all the other small rig cages are the best on the market. The have the best build quality Buy it now don't hesitate fits like a glove.
