Great Chain Saw
This a great saw - easy to use and very efficient. It is light and good for cutting bushes and trees up to a diameter of about 10-12 inches. It was also a very good price. I'm happy to recommend to others.

Lightweight, Powerful, and Surprisingly Quiet – Perfect for the Garden
I’ve been really impressed with the Ryobi OCS1830. As someone already invested in the ONE+ system, this cordless chainsaw was a no-brainer—and it hasn’t disappointed. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and powerful enough for pruning trees and cutting logs for the firepit. The brushless motor really makes a difference in terms of smooth operation and battery efficiency. The 30cm bar is ideal for general garden use, and it cuts through wood with minimal effort. I especially like how quiet it is compared to petrol models—no ear defenders needed for the odd Sunday session. Chain tensioning is tool-free and dead simple, and the automatic oiling system works like a charm. That said, you’ll want at least a 4.0Ah battery if you’re planning to use it for longer jobs. It does go through juice when working hard.Overall, it’s a great bit of kit for DIYers and gardeners. Highly recommended.

Ryobi OCS1830 18V ONE+ Cordless Brushless Chainsaw – Ideal for Light Tasks with the Right Battery
Ryobi OCS1830 18V ONE+ Cordless Brushless Chainsaw – Ideal for Light Tasks with the Right BatteryThe Ryobi OCS1830 18V ONE+ Cordless Brushless Chainsaw is a handy tool for small-scale cutting tasks. Its 30 cm (12-inch) bar and chain, powered by an 18V brushless motor, deliver efficient performance for pruning and light-duty jobs.Performance: This chainsaw is well-suited for light cutting tasks, such as pruning branches and cutting small logs. However, its performance is closely tied to the battery used. For optimal results, it's recommended to use a 4.0Ah or, preferably, a 5.0Ah battery. These higher-capacity batteries provide the necessary power and longer runtime to handle multiple cuts effectively. Using lower-capacity batteries may result in reduced performance and shorter operational periods.Design and Features: The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system, ensuring consistent lubrication of the chain during operation. The tool-less chain tensioning mechanism allows for quick and easy adjustments, enhancing user convenience. Additionally, the mechanical chain brake adds an extra layer of safety by stopping the chain promptly in case of kickback.Pros:Lightweight and easy to handle, making it suitable for beginners and occasional users.Part of the Ryobi ONE+ system, allowing battery compatibility with other Ryobi tools.Quiet operation compared to petrol-powered chainsaws, with no emissions.Cons:Limited to light-duty tasks; not suitable for heavy or prolonged cutting jobs.Performance is heavily dependent on using higher-capacity batteries (4.0Ah or 5.0Ah and above).Batteries and charger are often sold separately, adding to the overall cost if not already owned. Conclusion: The Ryobi OCS1830 18V ONE+ Cordless Brushless Chainsaw is a practical choice for small jobs requiring a few cuts, especially when equipped with a 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah battery. Its user-friendly design and compatibility with the Ryobi ONE+ system make it a convenient addition for those already invested in Ryobi's cordless tool lineup. However, for more demanding tasks, a more powerful chainsaw may be necessary.

Almost perfect.
I love this so much. It has genuinely helped me re-do my entire garden & NEVER missed a beat...The only thing I hate? the chains. They come loose WAY too easily and even at max tension still loose. Chains cost alot & dull/go too loose within probably a week or so of use, I take good care of them & loosen them after every use too. So chains aside? it's amazing. Buy third party batteries off ebay for cheap, Enjoy the amazing chainsaw.

Useless instructions for assembly.
Excellent chainsaw but the instructions are useless. Possible reason for returns. They are not clear and one vital small screw is essential for tensioning the saw. Easily missed and no clear sign of where it fits.

Not fit for purpose
I bought this to replace a really old and basic lithium chainsaw from B&Q (own brand power something or other) because after 5 years of use cutting logs for our wood burner the batteries finally gave in and I could not get replacements.I will start with some positives, the product is easy to assemble, appears to be made from good materials / looks robust, it is also nicely balanced and it cuts fine while the battery lasts. That's where it ends. The first thing of note and most important it it does not have a brake (or mine was defective). So when you release the trigger it runs on and on until it coats to a stop, this is really dangerous. The second most important point is battery life is dismal, cutting 100mm to 150mm soft wood the batteries on my old chainsaw would last around 30-40 minutes before requiring a recharge. Wit this after 10 minutes of use on 100mm soft wood the Ryobi 4Ah lithium battery is very hot and stops working. The 2Ah battery managed 10 cuts and lasted 3 minutes!!!!!!The final negative is more of an annoyance. All other chainsaws I have used petrol, cordless or corded have ejected the shaving forward (they go around the plastic chain guard and are projected forward awy from the user. With this chainsaw the shaving are ejected down to your feet which means unless you wear chainsaw trousers that cover over your shoe (mine are a little short) you end up with a shoe full of chippings which is uncomfortable.I am gutted that I did not use this until after the return window had closed because frankly I do not want to use this any longer but cannot return it.
