Good product and brand. We have used this brand in the past multiple times and it’s a quality brand. My husband and I both take this product to improve cellular health.

I just started with this brand. I was on the NOW Foods brand for a little over a month. Same mg, same count, price is comparable. But the swanson brand pills are about half the size. I don't have a problem taking large pills, but, smaller ones are much better! The supplement itself has helped tremendously. I have suspected for some time that my estrogen levels were high. Ever since my last child 3 years ago, I have had extremely heavy periods, soaking a super absorbent tampon in 1 to 2 hours for the first 36 hours or so. Always lasting at least 6 days, once as long as 12 days. After a visit to the doctor, I was told that I was becoming anemic, but, they never tested hormones. About a year ago, I started getting terrible headaches, and in the last 18 months I have gained about 30 lbs. After doing some research it seemed the culprit could be high estrogen levels. So, I decided to try this supplement. If I was wrong, it seemed to be a good thing to take anyway, and was hoping very much that it would help my symptoms. I just finished my second period after starting this supplement, I'm not sure I noticed much of a difference on the first one, but, I had only been taking it for a week or so at that time. The period I just finished lasted 3 DAYS!!! I never once soaked through a tampon! That is incredible... I have not had a headache for weeks! Which is also incredible. I haven't noticed any weight loss, but, with the results I already have, I will continue to take this supplement religiously!

The bad: The smell! I have not (yet) tried other brands, so I don't know how this compares. This product has the breathtaking scent of a cross between mildew and someone with bad gum disease, and it's a VERY powerful smell. It is stomach turning, and your burps will smell and taste like that for a while. The hand that you put the pill in will smell of it for a while. I would not put up with it if I didn't have a medical need that this is supposed to be very helpful with. The good: And it seems to be very helpful. I noticed positive changes by Day 3. My symptoms return if I miss taking it for a couple of days, as I did when I went on a weekend trip and forgot to pack them. I will continue taking these because they work. I may try another brand at some point, though, because of the smell. Not just that it's strong, but because it smells strongly of bad things that I'd never want to be swallowing.

This is an important supplement for me to keep my hormones balanced. I’m a 44 yo pre-menopausal woman. I think my estrogen had started to increase last year and after reading a lot about I-3-C I decided to try this one. Taken during the day, it does give some broccoli burps/bad breath, so now I just take it at night. It helps regulate my cycle and “evens me out” mood-wise. I also think it helps keep my estrogen in check, which in turn has helped keep my weight in check. I won’t say it caused me to lose weight, but I can tell it helped keep me from that unexplained weight gain that happens at this age. I didn’t think it was doing anything, so stopped taking for a month or so…QUICKLY realized how much it was help me. I know all peoples bodies are different, but if you feel like your body may be having “estrogen dominance” I would encourage you to try this supplement.

I3C coverts to dim and other compounds, that’s why I3C is BETTER than taking a dim supplement. Do you want the Apple or just the peel? You want all of it. Xenoestrogens and plastics are causing hormone Disruptions and havoc on the human endocrine system since the 1950s. I3C helps balance the hormones at play giving us a better homeostasis and hormonal response, lowering are chances of cancers and male and female reproductive dysfunction. Take 2 a day, morning and night to see best results. Smells like cabbage, because that’s where it comes from. I3C will help out with water weight and excessive estrogen in males and females. More benefits so research.

...so only time will tell if the strategy worked. I did quite a bit of research on this (for my mom) as well as DIM, a derivative, settled on this product as the best all-round supplement (and least expensive). Most gynecologists these days are loathe to prescribe estrogen for menopause, as they now believe the risks (stroke, heart attack, cancer, etc.) outweigh the benefits. From my reading of research studies, I3C offsets the bad effects of hormone replacement therapy (estrogen), while enhancing the good ones- increased libido, better skin, sharper cognition, lower blood pressure, many more. It's still controversial, depending on whom you read, but for me, this seems the best compromise. Without estrogen my mom's hair was falling out, skin going to hell, memory dicey, terrible. Her physician prescribed estrogen. Now she says she feels better, physical and cognitive changes are noticeable, e.g., hair thicker, fuller, skin improved, more energy, sharper mind/memory, etc. Note that she's taking other things as well, such as Hawthorn for blood pressure, potassium, we're mixing up and using magnesium oil, a slew of things (her blood pressure is now down to normal). But based on what I've read the I3C makes HRT, taking estrogen, safe. Don't take my word for it though, my reading was not encyclopedic in scope, please read up on it yourself. As I say, only time will tell. If she should happen to experience any adverse effects of HRT, I'll update this review.
