It has a very strong chemical clinical smell, which is slightly sweet. When you get used to it, it's not wildly unpleasant, but it is certainly not a normal smell. It smells what it is: medicated. You can get some of the smell reduced by doing several rinse cycles afterwards, or washing the load again in normal detergent, but there is always a lingering element of it. You get used to it after a while, so as long as you don't mind others thinking you smell like a trip to the dentist surgery never mind!It does a good job of killing anything like bacteria and fungal smells. Old wet socks that stink and the like are fixed, alongside things like underarms of favourite tshirts that have started smelling a little rotten.
