*Overview*Since high school I have had painful joints. Ankles? Yep, rolled em both playing basketball. Shoulders? Yep, exacerbated after tearing my rotator cuff in college. Elbows? Yep, poor form from working out made this a reality. Back? Yep, construction in college made that a daily reality. At 29, I felt way older than I would have ever expected for my age. So, in my search for what may help, I've tried Chondroitin, MSM, Glucosamine, and Celadrin. I can say in the last month of including Celadrin in my daily supplement mix, I've noticed great benefits.*Anecdotal Evidence*Back in mid-August I signed up for the Tough Mudder in Central Florida on November 5th. As someone who doesn't workout often (it just really hurts too), I was both surprised I really wanted to sign up and surprised how quickly my joints fought back. It made the search for something that helped all the more urgent. MSM alone did not help. Chondroitin did nothing at all. Glucosamine did nothing at all. Cue Celadrin. I started taking it exactly one month before the race. Within about 2 weeks, I just stopped thinking about my joints. They just weren't as painful anymore. Running north of 12 miles + obstacles on the Tough Mudder I was surprised how resilient I was throughout the race. Other people are cramping up and getting medical attention but I just kept going. Tough Mudder approved! Now, the day after the race, I feel soreness (of course) but muscular soreness, NOT JOINT PAIN. Huge difference.*Recommendations*If this will work for you, it's going to take some time. Most likely you did not experience pain in your joints from inflammation overnight and it won't dissipate overnight. Give it some time. I would consider pairing it with MSM as well (1500mg) but I personally will not purchase the Doctor's Best Glucosamine/Chondrotin/MSM mix. I'll stick with my Chondrotin thank you very much. It seems to me that these pills are helping with my knee pain from Osteoarthritis in my knees and ankles. The change is subtle but significant enough that I can notice some changes now after taking them ~ 14 days. What I specifically notice is that I can get up out of my reclining sofa chair easier at night and with less pain and stiffness than before starting the pills. There is still pain and stiffness of course but it seems to be less. It has also been somewhat easier to walk up and down the short 4 steps leading to our front and back porches. I'm usually not one who takes many supplements or believes the claims they purport, but the Celadrin complex had enough decent clinical research behind it with positive results that I thought it was worth a try. I'm going to continue to take these for a while, probably about 6 months, then stop and see if I notice a downslide when I stop. I'm taking only 1 per day in the morning. I do not take (nor ever have) Glucosamine or Chondrotin. In my mind anyway, there just isn't enough research to support / justify taking them. I would also like to add that I had the hyaluronic acid injections in both knees last February (4 months ago). I think that this may provide as much relief as those did. I purchased Doctor's Best because of the cost and purported quality of ingredients.
