A thoroughly enriching read
This book is about making your life more successful by providing a deeper understanding of our psychology and how to harness it. Fundamentally our success is driven by our ability to focus our state of mind on the right areas in a disciplined fashion. The book is rather long (548 pages) and took me a very long time to read but despite my prior extensive reading of self-help books there were a number of ideas here that I hadn’t encountered before. The book is structured sensibly around some master topics with a number of sub-chapters and I will be using this easy reference system to refer back to the book in the coming months and years. I extracted most of the value from the book in the first half of the book and found limited value in the second half of the book. Here are the key learnings I took from the book • Most people never achieve anything because they major in minor things • To create lasting change you should raise your standards, change your limiting beliefs and change your strategy • There are 3 conditions that control your destiny: what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what to do to create results • Making a true decision means committing to a course of action and eliminating all other options • Everything we do is our need to avoid pain or gain pleasure. We can harness this information to change our behaviours and outcomes • For most people the fear of losing something is more important than the desire of gaining something • Our beliefs, often generalisations of painful/pleasurable experiences from our past, drive our behaviour • Personal breakthroughs always begin with a change in beliefs • You must believe that you can change things • To improve your chances of changing something you must link huge amounts of pleasure or pain to the old and new behaviours • Decide what you want, associate the pleasure/pain, interrupt the pattern, repeat until consistent • Your performance is based on your state of mind and not your ability • You must therefore master the ability to change your state of mind through exercise, body language etc • Practice this until you can change your state of mind at any time in any place • Asking the right questions leads you to the right answers to life • Successful people ask better questions • When faced with temporary setbacks ask things like What is great about this problem and how can I enjoy the process of change? • The words you use have the power to change your state of mind because words are the labels we use for our experiences • Make a joke of disempowering feelings before they take hold • When feeling nervous, label it excitement like Bruce Springsteen • Metaphors have the ability to transform the way you look at things and even your whole entire life. Life has its seasons as an example • Appreciate your feelings because they will help you understand and solve the problems that you’re facing. For example if angry with someone ask yourself how you can communicate better in the future • Once you’ve worked out what you want in life, set some goals, develop a plan and apply massive and consistent action towards its fulfilment • Go on a 10 day mental diet by not dwelling on negative thoughts or feelings . Part 2: Control the master system • You must control your evaluation system to achieve superior results • To be happy we must live in accordance with our values • If your values are clear then making decisions becomes much easier • Understand the difference between means (money, family, relationships) and ends (love, happiness, • Whether or not you feel as though you’re achieving your values depends upon the scorecard you’re keeping, your beliefs about what has to happen for you to feel happy • Don’t expect people to love by your rules if you don’t communicate them well • More reference points in life allow us to make better decisions. • Leaders are readers • Having a strong identity will stop you having a mid-life crisis

Life changing
A truly inspiring book. So glad it is now on Kindle. I bought it the moment I saw it, even though I have read and re-read it in paperback, because it is so useful to make notes and book-mark this manual for life. I think some people in this country may view Anthony Robbins with suspicion because of his mass breakthrough presentations and his firewalking reputation, but there is good reason for his massive success. I couldn't possibly afford to attend his training events but the rich seam of self-discovery in this and his other classic 'Unlimited Power' which is also on Amazon Kindle now, contains profound and life-changing wisdom. As an example, working through exercises in this book caused me to successfully commit to a health and fitness programme that I maintained without fail for 2 years. I remain fit and healthy in a way I never would have thought possible. I can honestly say that it is because of his books that I myself am now a life-coach, hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner as well as a published author. Get this book, his other book, and probably Stephen Covey's 7 Habits, and you have all you need for you and your family to achieve personal and professional success.

One of the best books I have ever read
The book is full of practical exercises, stories, examples and techniques that you can apply immediately to improve any area of your life. Robbins also shares his own personal journey of overcoming challenges and achieving his goals. He teaches you how to awaken the giant within you and unleash your full potential. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to transform their life and achieve their dreams. It is a classic in the field of personal development and one of the best books I have ever read. It will challenge you, motivate you and empower you to take action and make positive changes in your life.

I worked in mental health/psychiatry as a mental health nurse for 15+ years and I have run a successful counselling practice for nearly 5 years now. Within the current climate with mental health being at the fore of everyday living there are several constants and one of those is 'Awaken the Giant Within'. I recommend this book to ALL my clients (and to everyone I talk to). It resonates deeply with the core of who we are as humans and helps to identify what’s really important and in helping to make clear distinctions of what our lives are about and our destiny. Personally, I read this book once/twice every year. In addition to this great work, I also recommend Victor Frankl’s ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’ and Richard Bach’s ‘Jonathan Livingston Seagull’. These books and others have shaped my life and they will potentially shape your life also.

I am not rating the content of the book but the size of the letters of this book. So small it is hard to read.

this book is massive and targets on every aspect of self improvement. MAIN IDEA OF THE BOOK: ------------------------------------------ the author shares his philosophy about pain and pleasure and says our likes and dislikes, behavior patterns and habits are evolved from this . "" if we link massive pain and pleasure to anything , we can use this understanding to harness the force of pain and pleasure to change virtually anything in our life"" this book is the powerhouse of motivation. the author discusses various topics of self improvement in details with a lot of real references like : the power DECISION MAKING. the concept of NAC ( neuro - associative conditioning). the concept of CANI ! (constant and never ending improvement) the importance and impact of WORDS ,vocabulary in developing once character. EMOTIONS and and there impact and how to use them in self empowerment. ETC are some of the concept covered in this giant book . every section of this book contains various activities and sequential steps about how one can make a change in oneself which i found very good and thought provoking and one can found himself involved in this book. at the end of each chapter the author summarize's it very brilliantly. this book contains so much wisdom that i have underlined most of my book. initially you might find this book a bit boring (my friends did) because the author talks about what this book contains and can do for over and over again. one thing i noticed about this book was its font size.they are quite small as compared to the other books that i have read.the book content is little compressed.for a better reference i'm some pics. WHO SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK ?: ------------------------------------------------ i believe this book contains so much value that every one must have a copy of this books in their collection. if you are looking for an all-rounder motivation book, or are interested in mind and human behavior . or if you want to change a habit or your life all together and are looking for a way then this book can be a great help. this book is very vast in terms of content that it is very hard to review this book in a little paragraph. i hope that this review was helpful to you. if yes give it a thumbs up (y) and have a great day.
