Upon seeing the January review, customer support reached out directly and after reviewing my device, has offered to replace it. I'm sorry to say this device only worked for a year and it is not an inexpensive gadget. In December, it stopped working because it needed a new battery, so I bought the special lithium battery. It couldn't be installed without the pea-size special Mopeka brand of sonic grease, so I bought that direct from Mopeka and it took 3 weeks for them to deliver. (It was 4 very small tubes put into the mail and yet took 3 weeks.) The device will not reinstall no matter what I try, so I sent an email to Mopeka support over a week ago and surprise surprise, I have not heard back. Not very impressed with any aspect of Mopeka right now. If I do get an answer or somehow get this reinstalled, I will update this review again but at this time, my previous recommendation of a buy has turned into a don't bother. ========== Nov 2023: Installed the Mopeka Pro+ on a 1000 gallon LP tank. You activate the monitor then find the right spot on the bottom of the tank and it attaches by magnets. Seems to have a strong hold. It took a couple of tries to get it in the right spot but you can "level" your final position so don't let that take you down. I know I'm working with an uneven tank so the perfect level won't be there but once I found a central spot that matched with my tank level, I reset the "level" in the app so that it recognizes the install. Looking at the gauge on my tank with the fat arrow, I would say 75%. App says 74%. So I felt good with that. I also chose the antenna with a 5' cord, just in case. I don't think it necessarily needed it but I had to dig out from under the tank so wanted to make sure the antenna didn't get effected underneath. My tank is about 40-50 feet from back of house and router is on second floor on opposite side of the house. Connection has been strong, no issues here. I will follow-up with a review in a couple of months to verify the level readings have stayed accurate as well as comment on how it holds up during the winter months. Feb 2024 Update: Over the winter, I checked the gauge on the tank to compare to the app about every 2 weeks. The app worked great to notify when the tank hit the designated percentage and every check on the tank to compare to the app was accurate. Never had any issues with wifi or connectivity. Winter was mostly mild then had a few weeks of sub-zero temperatures with 30+mph winds and severe wind-chills (in rural Illinois). The Mopeka stayed strong through it all. If there is anything worth reporting over the summer, I will update again. Otherwise, no news is good news from me. Review: Works great - Bought these for 2 propane tanks, 1000 gallon and a 500 gallon. The unit on the 1000 gallon tank went on easy and is accurate. My 500 gallon tank has a seam in the center on the bottom of the tank. I bought the seam adapter but could not get a high quality connection or accurate reading. I was able to get a good connection near the end of the tank just past the seam. It is not perfectly level but has a high quality (3 star) connection and is reading the tank correctly. The blue tooth signal on these units is very strong especially when the using the external antenna. Our 500 gal tank is only 6 or so inches above ground in Wisconsin. It will get snow covered and rainwater.** A: Yes it is waterproof. As a part of the "Class 1 Division 1" certification for dangerous/explosive environments, it also gets IP tested for water leaks and such. All the electronics are fully encapsulated except for the batteries. But then the outside of the entire enclosure has a rubber seal there as well. As a tip, make sure to use lots of ultrasonic grease (included). That of course helps the reading have a stronger quality, but it also helps to prevent water from working its way between the sensor and the tank, then freezing and getting a large layer of ice between it that could impact the quality of the readings. The PRO+LR has significantly stronger wireless, but if you have trouble with wireless range when buried under the snow, you can also attach a wired antenna to move out from too much snow. Any 2.4Ghz wired antenna on Amazon should work (same frequency as WIFI antennas). Just look for an "SMA" antenna and make sure it has the "male" pin on it just like the included antenna. **Q: Is there a monthly/yearly monitoring fee when using the app?** A: No there's not a monthly monitoring fee with the app. Note that you may see some references to a monthly fee in certain documentation, but that is for our cellular version and dashboard, which is not currently sold on Amazon and only direct to businesses. **Q: On 120g tank can get hand in bottom but may not be far enough to position in btm center. Will this still work correct?** A: Unfortunately its hard to say - the sensor needs to typically be within about a 5 degree incline for best performance. The sensors will stick on with the magnet which should help, and then you can likely slide it in to place with a stick while watching the bubble-level in our app. The sensors are 4.2 inch diameter and 0.63 inches tall (16mm tall). And does this require a monthly subscription to use?** A: As far as I know, this unit does not operate on Wi-Fi. Bluetooth only and there is no monthly subscription. It goes directly to your phone or tablet. I can't get it to connect to my computer and don't know why.
