When they arrived and I could hear the chips rattling in the box, knew they were ok. In summer one hopes chocolate doesn’t melt enroute! They were fine.

I purchased these as a special treat for Christmas baking. I had never bought Ghiradeli before. They are just a wonderful product. I would recommend them to anyone.

We made crockpot hot chocolate over the Christmas holiday, we made it twice, the first time with a very well known chocolate chips, then with Ghirardelli, by far the Ghirardelli was the best with flavor and richness

Ghirardelli makes good quality chocolates - I enjoy them for snacking, and I love them in baked goods. They are evenly formed and sized, with very few small bits. They hold up to baking, and don't disintegrate into cookies and bars. These chips are simply a much better quality than the store brand. They are dense, have just the right amount of sweetness, and a good cocoa flavor. Makes my baked goods taste more special. These come with a barista spoon. The edge near the handle was a little rough, but that's not a deal breaker for this item. Maybe just be careful if having kids help in the kitchen. The bag is foil lined, but not resealable. That would have been convenient, but it's also easy to just decant into smaller containers.

Didn't expect there to be a big clump when it was so expensive, I thought these are supposed to be quality???

I love the quality and taste of Ghirardelli chocolate products, and these chocolate chips are no exception. I used these chips to make a Cook's Illustrated hot chocolate balls recipe as well as chocolate chip cookies. The chips were wonderful in both. The balls are great because we can now have fabulous hot chocolate whenever the mood strikes. My main concern when ordering this huge bag of chips was how big it was - 5 pounds is a lot of chips to use. A little research revealed that chocolate chips can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 18 months. I used my vacuum sealer to package 1 pound bags of chips and I popped those in my freezer. Now we will have wonderful quality chocolate chips whenever we need them for a long time to come. Highly recommended!

I wouldn't order this big bag again, the chocolate chips have white coating and taste old
