Brilliant :-)
I tried this out yesterday and I'm very excited :-) I was told recently I needed to see a gum specialist because my gums are so bad that I will experience some tooth loss soon, my teeth are good but my gums are terrible apparently. I realise there is a chance that all dentist say this as it was a new dentist, but non the less it scared me into action and one of these babies seemed like a good idea, as some googling has made me suspect I have periodontal disease. I have to wait several months to see the specialist, so I thought id do everything I could in the mean time, so I'm been flossing with interdental brushes daily and cleaning with and electric toothbrush for the full two minutes at least morning and night and now this has been added to my new routine. I have to admit I was expecting it to be a ball ache, as although the review were good, people seem anoyed by its ease of use and how often you have to fill it up, but after a couple of goes and a small amount of spraying water all over the bathroom before I realised it was best to put it in your mouth before turning it on...I got the hang of it pretty quick.. You turn it on and then it has three modes to select from, which takes a minute to get used to as the water does run out quite quick, it took a bit of time to get used to what noise/feeling mean which mode, but after a few minutes id got the hang of it.. According to the instructions, the jet mode is for flossing between teeth, and the air in mode normal is for flushing the gum pockets for my suspected periodontal disease, as the jet it too strong, and then the air in soft mode is for massaging the gums from problem areas. This was all reassuring to me as no where online did it specifically say it was for periodontal pockets, although I did confuse myself researching all the different models etc.. All in all I'm very pleased with it, the water strength is perfect, strong enough to feel clean and clean between teeth and gums but not painful... the water does need filling up frequently, but as you have to be over the sink anyway it only takes a second to fil it up and the door to the tank is easily opened and closed as its just like a rubber stopper, so if the tap has been running a little bit warm its easy peasy to keep filling up.... Plus id rather it was small to make manoeuvring easier... I was playing with it for about 15 minutes last night to get the hang of it, and filled it up loads of times, but i did it as part of my morning schedule this morning and you only really need to fill it up maybe 3 or 4 times at a guess to floss the teeth and do the periodontal pockets and your done. I was very happy with this, as I suspected incorporating it into my daily routine would be a ball ache but its been easy peasy, long may it continue :-)

2 years review
Almost 2 years since I bought it, this water flosser stopped working. The pump was making a weird noise and nothing would jet out. I decided to give it another chance and deep cleaned the whole thing with 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water, including parts where you have to pop the case to access it. The water flosser is now fine and ready for another 2 years, I hope. Regarding the product, it’s a an ok water flosser with a rather small water reservoir that you need to fill twice to get a full teeth clean routine out of it. The battery last for about a month and charges overnight.

I thought this product might have been the answer to our poor flossing habits but unfortunately it is not!
This product carries out the job it claims it will! My husband and I share this - we have a different head each. The main positives about to it are 1) Your teeth feel super clean after using it 2) The water reaches places your dental floss does not and 3) you can offset the cost against fewer trips to the dentist if it encourages you to be more mindful of your teeth. I realise that having had the product for over a year now my husband and I treat it as a bit of a gimmick, we do not use it consistently and having given it some thought, I believe these are the reasons why. 1) Busy schedule- we're always rushing about. You do need to have a spare 10-15 mins to use it properly. 2) We don't always have warm water in the taps at our sink. Cold water blown on your teeth and gums can hurt! 3) When you use it you have to put it in your mouth and close your lips around it. I dont know why but I presumed you could use it and simultaneously look in the bathroom mirror and track your progress. You can not do this -unless you are content to get VERY wet! So when you are using it you are just pushing it around your mouth and hoping you are aiming at the right area. Another minor grumble is the reservoir for the tank doesn't hold much water, you run out of water 3 or 4 times during a clean and again filling it up takes up time. I suppose the crux of the issue for us is that we both are very good at washing our teeth regularly with electric toothbrushes and we consistently use mouth wash. However we are poor to remember or make the time to floss. I thought this product might have been the answer to our poor flossing habits but unfortunately it is not. We neglect the product as much as we neglect the humble dental floss!

Impressed
I bought this after my hygienist recommended getting a water flosser. I researched the items for sale on Amazon and took a trip to Boots to actually see the products available and was trying to choose between the Waterpik version and this one. I chose this one as it seemed to be a superior product albeit a little more expensive. I was not disappointed. Yes, it can be messy to begin with but the performance of the product is excellent. It feels just like it feels at the dentist when they're trying to get into those difficult to reach places. The feeling of cleanliness afterwards is really good. It takes a little bit of getting used to when angling the jet head, angling MY head and getting the correct position to avoid washing the bathroom walls! After two goes I am only using one reservoir full of water so certainly getting the knack. Not sure what the charge retention is like as yet but at least it doesn't run out after one use. One of my worries was the size of the unit compared to the ones with a separate reservoir and hose; It doesn't cause me any issues and is a good size in the hand and comfortable to hold, also doesn't slip out of the hand. Still using every night and have only charged this up once so far - the charge is lasting a very long time!

A handy tool for cleaning your teeth - and your toothbrush head!
I find flossing with floss painful and difficult, probably because I have a few crowns and close-fitting teeth. I bought this on a whim to see if it was any use. After some teething troubles because I wasn't used to it (water on the ceiling, in my eye and up my nose), I got to grips with it and started seeing some benefits. On spitting out the water there is usually food there, so it's doing something right. The battery lasts a long while, but it takes 13-15 hours charging time, without a green light to say it's done. Fair enough, I can count. What I hadn't foreseen is how useful it is at cleaning the head of my Braun electric toothbrush. If you don't keep them clean, nasty black stuff accumulates and it's gross. Once I've flossed, I refill and after brushing my teeth I then clean all the apertures in my toothbrush head over the bath on the strongest setting. If you were previously blissfully unaware of the horrors lurking within your toothbrush, you're in for a nasty surprise as it will blow out TONS of black, slimy gook. Really unpleasant stuff that you've been rubbing round your mouth twice daily for how long? :S I'm pretty fastidious with cleaning my brush, but this contraption takes that up to another level. The head looks brand new, even after months of use, with only the bristles showing its age. it's a lot more hygienic, and if I stopped using it as a flosser, I'd still use it to clean my toothbrush. Of course everything used to keep your mouth clean needs cleaning itself, so I run some Milton sterilising fluid through it regularly, and leave the reservoir open to air-dry so it doesn't go all gacky itself. A great piece of kit that has more than one use.

Don't buy - stopped working after 5 months
Stopped working after 5 months. I won't be buying a Panasonic oral irrigator again. Had difficulty contacting to get a refund, eventually contacted Panasonic who gave me a phone number for Amazon. After several frustrating minutes with a AI "person", finally got to a real person who has scheduled pickup of the faulty item and hopefully I will get a refund.
