TWSBI Diamond 580, Dispenser, Piston Fountain Pen, Nib F Fountain Pen, Demonstrator Clear

I have been using this pen for a year now and it has still not let me down once.

This is a very well built pen with a beautifully smooth ‘F’ nib: I’m used to Japanese nibs, which are finer, so I ordered a replacement ‘XF’ nib which is also amazingly smooth(these Jowo nibs are excellent!)

I don't write a lot but when I do I use this bad boy. I love it

I use it for sketching using waterproof ink. I absolutely love this pen. I've used it on rough watercolour paper and it works perfectly. I don't know if it helps, but I store it standing up so the ink isn't running into the nib the whole time. But for me, the fact that it consistently delivers a good amount of ink is what makes it so reliable (and it it starts to look a bit washed out, I just rotate the plunger a quarter turn and it's fine again). It also looks really nice.

This is one of those items do beautifully designed its quote the work of art. Easy to fill with ink (no cartridges used). Just put the tip into the ink and twist the end. I love it.

The screw cap takes very slightly longer to put on, but it seems really, really good at preventing the pen from drying out even if you leave it for a month or two while on vacation. Of course, you do need to screw it on when not using it to prevent it from drying out. The feel of the pen is great. I find the refill mechanism a lot easier to use in practice than using a cartridge pen with a converter or a syringe. If you are fine with using having an ink bottle, a good piston fill is honestly going to be way less trouble, and the pen being a demonstrator means you can actually see what is going on. In hindsight I wish this were my first fountain pen since I don't necessarily need it to be portable.
