Heat, penetrating oil and a good quality hex-socket hadn't worked, so I bought a set of these as a last line of sanity before the grinder got dusted off!The whole job took less than five minutes in the end. Tap in the screw extractor to get it to bite, then gently begin rotating counterclockwise and you can feel it digging into the screw. Now increase the pressure (24" breaker bar!) and watch it do its magic. I must admit that I was worried the bit would break before the screw came out, but in the end all was fine. Inspection of the extractor afterwards showed no damage at all - still like new.With any screw extractor there is the worry that it'll break off and make the situation worse ... in this case, the tool did the job as needed and as such I'm very happy with the design and quality of them, so much so that I bought the complementing set of bolt extractors.
