California Costumes Men's Roman Gladiator Adult-Sized Costume

Although a little fiddly to get on the first time, once sorted this is actually a pretty good costume. I'm 170cm tall (short !) with a 42 inch chest 32inch waist and the medium fits great and would cope with someone taller and maybe up to 44 chest and 38 waist. The underdress bit is knee length and quite thin material. The velour effect sort of rubberized chest plate is comfortable and looks effective. You would have to spend quite a lot more to get anything more genuine looking.

This product for me gets 4 starts, as it is not perfect to my standards... To start off, when you get this, it is nicely packaged with the picture of the guy on it showing how it looks when its on... However on opening the package, we find no instructions for how to put this on guessing where the pieces of Velcro on your body attach to. That said it doesn't take a genius to work this out, the only thing i had trouble with was the shoulder piece as it didn't seem to want to sit flat of my shoulder, so i ended up safety pinning it to the Armour which kept it nicely in place... The labels will annoy you as well as when you turn around they will be sticking out and make you look like a dunce, i highly recommend cutting them off carefully as to not ruin the cape... As it says in the description, no sword, shield or flip flop sandals he is wearing comes included so buy your own... The whole costume is attached round the body via two silky like pieces of fabric that you then pull around you back and tie off, the suit is not held together by those 3 belt buckles as i had thought, although when it is on one might assume that is it as the cape hides this factor. If your planning on using this for fancy dress also be aware there are no pockets for your phone or wallet so do what i did and wear a pair of shorts beneath the toga thing you cant visibly see it and it keeps your legs warm.. One last thing, the headband is cool but i highly recommend getting either a spartan or roman helmet to finish this outfit off as it looks much better, especially if you don't have long hair it will look kind of odd. Great quality material used, okay fitting around the chest and shoulders, only little things such as the Velcro annoyed me but i can see past that, as once you put it together yo never have to go through it again, would recommend for a person wanting to dress up as a roman.

Frankly amazed this was so good. Worn 72 hours straight on Rugby tour indoors and out coach rides. Very comfortable and easily wearable for long periods. Cannot fault it. Generous fit. After receiving XXL for me, ordered XL for my son who is same size, fit was even better. Carefully folded and stored now, I think this one will get lots of use for future tours and silliness.

This costume looks great on. I went for the medium and I am 6'2" tall with 42" chest and 32" waist. The costume still feels a bit big on the upper body. It would be interesting to actually try on the small size. Overall I am really pleased with the costume.

Firstly sizing is way way way out..... Now look at the picture, this breaks all trading standards laws on misrepresentation... Look at the sandals (which are not included, they are clearly leather not felt, I say not felt because now look at the shin guards in the picture they are clearly LEATHER but what you get is FELT.... That's false advertising, it's clear misrepresentation and breaking Trading standards laws just be aware its over sized, over priced and not AS SEEN!!!!

Great fancy dress outfit. It really looks the part. I bought a medium. I am 6ft with average build. The medium was too big and needed extra safety pins to hold it up. Overall happy with costume and had a good laugh on the night out wearing it.

Decent quality and was easily put together. Has quite a few velcro bits and pieces but looked really good. Does not come with the sword, Shield or sandals, so if you require the complete look you will need to purchase separately. Packs away in the original packaging and will be worn again in the future I am sure. Obviously only for fancy dress..........
