The pellets are the perfect size and texture, and my birds adjusted to them quickly. I really like that it’s formulated specifically for parakeets, so I know they’re getting balanced nutrition without needing to mix in extra supplements. The quality is consistent: no dusty bits, no odd smells, and the pellets stay fresh right to the bottom of the bag. My birds’ feathers are looking healthy, their energy levels are great, and there’s definitely less selective eating compared to seed mixes. I am looking after my daughter's budgie and she already used this so I ordered the same. He seems very happy with it, when not tempted by millet spray! Parcel arrived safely.

At first, when I ordered these (as an emergency as Northern Parrots were briefly closed over Xmas), they seemed fine. My conure had a go at them, but over the next few hours, I noticed a strange 'wee' odour in the room. Having cleaned and checked everything as this had never happened before, my suspicion that it was these pellets was proven true once I removed them. I had to stand them for a few days before ordering my usual ranges of pellets elsewhere and promptly binned these pellets. Not sure what's in them to produce such a horrible wee smell. OK for emergency use, but there are definitely much better products out there with fresher, healthier ingredients.

The ingredients sound okay in principle and very similar to other products with which my budgie is familiar, small pellets. The pellets in this case are multi-coloured which is not all that helpful but it has a strong, synthethic tuti-fruti candy smell - my budgie won't go near it as a result. It has a strong synthetic taste similar to the smell (yes I did try it). It may be right up your budgie's street but not mine. It seems over processed.

They smell very artificial and not nice. It stinks up the whole room. Been trying to feed it to my budgie for a whole month I think she haven't ate a single ball. My new budgie that I got over a week does not like it either. I mix it with seeds so the seeds are eaten and this left. Maybe the balld are too big for budgies as from the reviews it seemed that owners with bigger birds like conures were okay with this... I've read in the coments that some people chop it for the birds so will try to do that, but again if I lut a bigger quantity of it in my older budgies food bowl she flips out and start throwing the seeds out of the feeder with her beak in anger.

So I purchased these as our birb was not too impressed with the overly priced Harrisons pellets despite a long period of introduction. Given these were much more reasonably priced and generally considered 2nd place in the birb community behind Harrison’s I figured we would give it a go. First impressions were surprising as like and diligent pet owner I always make a habit of smelling new foods. So you can imagine my surprise when I discovered these pellets have a bubblegum odor which was honestly not what I was expecting at all in a birb food. Would be preferable if they offered a version free of coloring additives but honestly not the worst I have seen. One thing to note is that they do have a higher sugar content than Harrison’s so you should be mindful of this when adding the fruit or veggie choices to the diet. We are in the process of introducing them so cannot say yet what the feathered verdict is but one can only hope! He at least seems more curious, maybe it’s the color or perhaps the smell but who can tell 🤣🤣 Update: EVERYONE is happily eating it since a new juvenile birb joined the flock, he will eat anything and once he started stuffing his sweet little face everyone else decided it must be safe and joined in! Now they all eat as a complete replacement for seed. Much less mess!
