Cheap way to convert regular/cheap shoes into umpire shoes.

I bought these to use with my sneakers to do work for Habitat for Humanity. Unfortunately, I am going to need to return them. I wear a US size 10 women's shoe. This guard left the last knuckle of my toes uncovered. When I stood up to walk in them, they cut into my toe when I take a step. I decided the incomplete protection and the discomfort when walking wasn't worth keeping them. Instead, I will wear some more protective shoes I have that are a half size too small but still more comfortable than wearing these.

Very light weight. I barely even know they are on. The problem I have with them is that lacing them up in my shoe is inconvenient. If I had more shoes that work well for me and could just leave them on the shoes I need them on that would be great but I don't so it's not very convenient. And it would be nice if they came down further over my toe so that it has more protection. But I will continue to use them because they are the best option for me. . All the other toe covers are heavy and hurt my feet just like the safety shoes do.
