I have painful bunion that respond well to this split. I wear it as often as I can, often overnight. A can wear them with a shoe but it it is not always ideal. A gel toe separator usually fills in while I wear shoes. Going barefooted continues to causes me pain; I invested in an extra for a “shower splint”. It works for me.

It is more comfortable to wear them while sleeping

I have a small bunion that I noticed starting last year or so. Not very painful yet, but definitely starting to cause problems. I decided to try this solely because it is Dr Scholls, because I trust the brand enough to spend $15-20. These are very comfortable, much more so than the photo looks. The instructions are quite easy to understand, and the splint itself is easy to figure out. Very easy to adjust to fit. They seem very sturdy and well made, and I would be very surprised if they fall apart soon. The quality of the materials is very good, and they are very well made. No scratchy stitching or labels, and definitely no jagged velcro. I can feel the ligaments stretching when wearing it, and the information guide does explain that it can be uncomfortable at first because of this gentle stretching. For this reason it advises to start with 30 min at a time and work up to no more than 8 hours. For me, I can tolerate this “stretching feeling” for about an hour here at the beginning. Not sure it can reverse anything already happening, but definitely seems like it can keep things from getting worse at the very least.

I like the thickness, comfortable at first after a while )same day) my bunions are on fire. The gel part that goes over the bunion are one size and if you have small ones like me your bunions will turn red and start to get long, thank God they’re detachable because they were making my bunions longer. But the metal plate in the part that goes over the bunion needs more workmanship. They’re uncomfortable. And the adhesive that goes through the big toe is uncomfortable no matter how loose you put them. And their are two adhesive strips that look like they go around the, haven’t figured those out yet. But unfortunately I have to wear them right now because I can’t find anything better. Plus, my special shoes should be coming in any day now. And hopefully I can stop wearing these because I’m tired of them already.

For me, it is the best pain relief for bunion pain. It is durable, provides excellent support and stays in place! It isn’t really bulky but you definitely cannot wear it with shoes. But why would you? I wish I discovered this sooner.

Once you get used to wearing them they are a big help.

Female, 35 years old, post surgical support. I wear about an 8.5 shoe on average, 9 in running/street shoe. Standard to “D” width, depending on shoe. My podiatrist offered another splint that worked well while I was wearing my boot post surgery however living with my bones as they were for 35y, muscle memory is strong. We agreed I would find another “firm” splint or brace. This arrived today so here’s what I know; Easy to use! The brace lines up easily to put on, and adjusts simply. The gel spot for around the bunion space is gentle, yet firm. I like it more than I suspected. Alignment feels “right” No pressure or pain on joint!! Yay! Straps feel loose yet supportive, no swelling expected! No rubbing or noticeable hot spots expected. I will buy again if needed. Updates -IF- relevant or necessary.

My husband had a toe injury and was awaiting surgery. This brace was a life saver. It positioned his toe and relieved the pain immediately. He’s one week post op and hasn’t needed the brace again, so far. It is durable, washed up nicely and isn’t too bulky.
