*PURCHASE REASON: Saw this light strip online multiple times, I knew it would absolutely make the difference in our room. Decided to jump on it when it was on sale during Cyber Monday/Black Friday. *FAVORITE FEATURE(s): The Govee app! You can literally do so many creations with all the settings and features on the app that you can't do with the light itself (although the light on its own is super cute too). *PROS: -User friendly app that allows you to create multiple designs! -Easy to understand installation instructions and equipment -Insanely bright lights (this can be adjusted if that's not your thing) -Timer settings (can turn on and off at certain times of the day) *CONS: -N/A *RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MANUFACTURER: N/A *RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OTHER BUYERS: Measure out your space before buying one! You want to make sure you get the correct length. I didn't measure prior to buying, though I am very happy with the result regardless. *REASON FOR STARS: 5 STARS because our place is almost complete! It looks so much better than what I could have imagined, and its because of this light.

Super happy with this! The actual rope light itself is well made, feels very high quality, not at all cheap looking even up close when it's off. When lit it looks great, nice smooth solid color across the entire thing without obvious dimming between the different LEDs. The mic and the way it reacts to music/sound is extremely cool, something I've been wanting for 15 years, & it's finally here and it works great and it's super cheap.. amazing The thing that really sets this apart though is the app, it's just fantastic, very well made again and extremely deep and configurable without being difficult to learn for new users. You can pick from a ton of default options smartly grouped into different categories, or get into advanced mode and do exactly what you want when you want. I'm an app designer & I'm very impressed with the app's design & functionality.

These rope lights by Govee are amazing but the clips don’t stick to the wall well. You have to use the screws that come with it making it hard for more intricate designs. Aside from that, it gave my dj set up the perfect accent. And you can always buy more clips and get more creative. The effects on the app are cool too. I will be buying more rope lights for other portions of my house soon.

I tell you what, this company is unstoppable. They're continuing to put out quality product after product, and this one is no exception. This is a nice addition to my Govee collection of lights. And let me just tell you we will will start with the brightness. These things are so bright I run them at 30% because at 100, its too bright i mean really bright. They also give you plenty of the clips to allow you to place the lights anyway you like for any design that comes to mind. They also work with the app or you can use the switch that is attached as well to turn them on or off. They work with the govee home app. Which connects all your Govee lights and products together so you only have to go to one app to mess with all your lights. Cause let me tell you. As someone that is into lighting and strip lights there are so many to choose from out there and for next to nothing. But they all havebl a different app, many have low quality parts that get really hot to touch and many are cheaply made products from other places that have to download apps that aren't in english.. which I don't have a problem with normally if it is a specialized computer component i need or a part that i know is not made here or something like that. But you shouldnt have to deal with that when you are buying a product designed for fun. It shouldn't be a chore to get it up and running. Plus lately when it comes to privacy concerns. I get a little uncomfortable having to down load an app that litterally is in a different language. I don't know what I'm agreeing to I don't know what it says, or how this might even affect my phone or computer or anything else. I generally stay away from companies that make you download apps but dont have the decency to translate it to the country they are selling the product too. But thats a story for another time lol. With Govee that is not a problem. You have a quality product easy to read instructions and and app that is unbelievable. I can't even begin to tell you all the ways you can change and manipulate these lights with the app. Just know you are getting a good product

I’ve been using this light for over 9 months now on a daily. It has worked with no issues. The color quality is fantastic, brightness is fully adjustable. I love how fully customizable it is: you can match any mood. It ranges from rave party to calming meditation lights, controlled with a press of a button on your app, and you can schedule and automate it as well. It’s just.. anything you want it to be. Now I desperately want one for my bedroom to simulate sunrise 😄 I also found out long after buying it, that it is flicker free: meaning it will not aggravate your nervous system like most lights and it is safe to use at night. All in all a great buy, I fell in love with the company and bought quite a few products, which are all managed through the same app. All of them have been working flawlessly and I am very impressed. Spend the extra dollars and get high quality, you will not regret it.

With competitors such as Philips Hue being so incredibly expensive, I sought for the most similar product that wouldn’t drain my wallet. Luckily for me, these lights had been just released. To get to the point here are the key details. Pros: -Extremely flexible. I wouldn’t recommend overlapping them but they are capable of bending in such ways. -Wifi, bluetooth, and Alexa controls work flawlessly. -Microphone to follow music works very well with the ability to change its sensitivity. -Ability to change both the color and brightness of each segment individually, very cool!! -Compatible with home automation and timers. Cons: -These lights boast a fairly large brick to go into the wall, will cover other outlets. -If you plan on using the adhesive, beware it will certainly rip off your paint if attempted to be removed. Once they’re set in place, they’re set (either pro or con depending on your end goal). -Many preset color modes move too quickly creating a strobe like effect, with no way to change the speed. I was already a customer for Govee, using their RGBIC lights in both my room and car. These lights were the final addition I was looking for. These lights are bright enough to illuminate a smaller room if wanted to, or can be dimmed for a more mellow vibe. The customization is seemingly endless with new features being added in the Govee app through updates every year! Overall, I would highly recommend this product, especially considering the price of competitors, this is a very well made product at a better price point. I found the 16.4ft option to be perfect to create any design desired without running out of length. Unfortunately, you cannot connect multiple together so if you’re planning for a bigger design I’d say to go big or go home!
