Made a fast and clean job out of a nightmare transmition fill on my jeep.

I bought this 500 ml fluid extractor to flush my power steering fluid. It is constructed well enough to get the job done, but it arrived in a rather questionable condition. The handle felt like it was glued to the pump's container and required a lot of force to actually get it to pump, upon which I decided to disassemble it completely. What I found was some white, odorless, lotion-like substance (as seen in the pictures I included). I'm not entirely sure what it was, as this was my first time buying and using a hand-held pump such as this. If it came from the factory in this condition, I would at least expect an explanation as to what that substance is. I sampled a small bit of it and it felt sticky between my fingers, so it couldn't be a lubricant. I believe I received a unit that was previously used by another customer, who failed to clean it, and then returned it. Regardless of the reason why that substance was present, the pump works as intended after cleaning it and may even exceed my expectations for a manual fluid pump.

The directions suck, but it’s pretty intuitive to put the pieces together and make it work. It çame in handy for me because I overfilled my transmission and this made it easy to pull some fluid back out. I was worried about it coming apart inside the fill tube but the connectors stayed together, and it worked — thank goodness.

This thing was so leaky and difficult to use. The adapters and hoses that come with it are not sized well and the main "adjustable valve" needed was terrible and either closed off Fluids from leaving the syringe or leaked the Fluids from the valve. Made a huge mess. I couldn't suck fluid up with the pump either. I had to remove the back and fill it and then push out the Fluids. This is by far the worst product I have ever purchased on Amazon.

I used this to fill the manual transmission on my car after draining the old fluid. This really did make the job easier than trying to fit the bottle of gear oil under the car and into the fill hole. The cleanup got a little difficult, but that's how gear oil is, I guess.

At times you need to fill or pull out fluids. Normally I use a small vacuum/compressor and a glass 1 gallon jar to add or pull out fluids. The sering looks well build and used it twice. It is one of those must have items such as a Mighty Vac.
