Fantastic Classified Figure With A Few Disappointments
I was really looking forward to this figure. The original 80s crimson guard was my very first GI Joe figure, and while he has long since been lost, I am so happy he has returned as a Classified figure. For the most part, my figures are great on the paint apps where they count, like the unit insignia, rank pips, sleeve patch, and Cobra symbol on his chest; even the silver piping and buckles are pretty good. My only problem is unfortunately a big one: there is a huge black paint splotch on one guard's helmet. I may get brave enough to try to remove it with acetone, but maybe it's a safer bet to buy him again on the next wave. He comes with a lot of accessories, such as a black backpack with straps sculpted everywhere, even the back. The silver logo on the backpack is nicely punched in. His rifle has a detachable box magazine, and I may be wrong but his rifle appears to be based on an AR-10 battle rifle (straight box magazines are usually 7.62mm, and that was what the AR-10 was chambered for). The magazine has a cut to fit a specific way into the rifle's magazine well. The permanently fixed bayonet is painted well, but the rifle is going to need help with a hair dryer because it's pretty bent, for both Guardsmen. The rifle pegs onto the backpack via a peg that goes through the trigger guard, and I found it pegs in best with the magazine facing inwards. The pistol looks like it's based off of a high-end 1911 and it fits well into the holster. The knife looks nice but I would've preferred a dagger-type blade like the Cobra officer carries; the saw teeth on the back of the knife might make sense for field operations, but these guys are just not dressed for that. The ceremonial sword is a great touch for this figure, and its scabbard can be pegged to either the backpack or the left side of the belt. Both knife and sword have snake head pommels. The sword scabbards are both really bent, just like the rifles. Lastly, both pistols and rifles can accept blast effect accessories. As for articulation, there are a few hindrances. It is most of the same, but the feet are by and far the worst offenders. Even with hot water to help loosen the ankles, they are really tight and movement is limited, and standing him can be a chore, especially with the backpack on. The sleeves really hinder the hands thanks to this triangular formation off of the cuff, and even though the hands are both vertically hinged, their range is hampered thanks to how deeply buried they are into the sleeve cuffs. I had issues with joints in the knees and elbows on both figures that got pretty loose by the second pose. Once you stick a pose it seems to hold, but don't be surprised when he starts flopping like a noodle. I do love the figure, but it somehow just misses being a home run like the alley vipers or Cobra troopers. He still deserves 5 stars, and I'm looking forward to buying more when the next wave comes in.

Glorious imposing bodyguards!
Received four of these nice looking chaps around Christmas time and I must say they look stunning. Decided to keep only two though as that's more than enough for me to have on my shelf space with the other classified cobra figures. Box art also looks awesome and would make for a killer wall poster. Body sculpt and paint detail looks really clean especially their royal decorated medal on the top right side. They resemble very close to the original 3.75 RAH vintage figures while taking some bits from the 25th anniversary line. Comes with a good amount of accessories and smooth articulation joints including an ab crunch that makes them perfect for action poses. My minor gripes include: rifles came out slightly bent due to how they're packaged in the plastic case but can be fixed with hot water or air dryer, sword has some silver paint scratched when pulled out from scabbard and also scabbard can be accidentally knocked off from the belt when trying to pose the figure. Overall, these are fantastic army builders that are a must have for any cobra army collection. Can't wait to get the Walmart exclusive version too as an officer.

Pleased with the figure
Detailed, with various accessories options, articulation, appearance, sculpt, paint. Whether you buy this for your kids to play with or you're a collector, this will fit the bill. Also, very pleased at the cost, making these decently affordable, with some figures being less than half of the Classified Figures average price.

Way better than I was expecting.
I didn’t expect to like this figure as much as I do! I bought it because the Crimson Guard design has always looked great. But he’s as posable as it gets with the Classified series. Good amount of accessories as well.

Cobra academic trooper with Law or Accounting degree
This sculpt is great. Of the cobra “regulars” or basic troopers the crimson guardsmen were always one of my favorites. As they struck me as not only elite troops but had a sort of urban subterfuge element working for Tomax and Xamot in one of Cobra’s corporate offices as well as being special forces type units of cobra. Also super rad helmets don’t hurt either I like that there are now CG BATS as well I’m sure just a grab for more money but they too look cool. My only problem is the mag keeps falling out of his rifle, and the rifle itself looks a little more m16ish than the og toy I guess mainly that carry handle on the top not present in the original toy. Overall he looks and feels great.

Tal cual como en la primera serie animada, muy buenos detalles, aunque tuve ciertos problemas con la cabeza al tratar de reemplazarla, nada que no tenga solución, los accesorios son geniales
