Buy Lotta Jansdotter Everyday Style: Key Pieces to Sew + Accessories, Styling, and Inspiration Illustrated by Jansdotter, Lotta, Hallengren, Jenny (ISBN: 9781617691744) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Beautiful Scandi simplicity - Love the Jansdotter style, colours, prints and above all, clean simplicity. The patterns are basic and simple but adapt into several, desirable outfits. I love that paper patterns are provided and the layouts and instructions are clear, no silly cd to print off. I also love that the garments are shown on people of all ages and in different everyday use. The kaftan photograph on the cover is distinctive without doubt but does not give a true idea of the beautiful scandi style throughout the book so don't be put off! The rest looks modern not retro 70s as this conveys!!! I like Jansdotter's own style but check out Pinterest and the Ivy Arch blog for for a more Gudrun take on these clothes. Review: Fantastic patterns and a beautiful book, great instructions, to pull everything together. - Great book with the patterns, although I wouldn't say for a total beginner. Some experience is needed. However, the instructions are clear and the patterns are produced in such a way they are easy to trace of the main multi stencil paper. The language is American English, so there are a few instructions and materials that are jut called a different thing, but it is not complicated to work out. The book is great, lovely images and ideas for materials and tweaking the designs, which are typical simple scando with real class.

Sonia .. I love this book and the clothes.
I love this book and the styles. I am not an experienced dressmaker but have some knowledge of it. made the pilvi coat successfully but did have a few issues with the instructions. I cut out the pattern but cut off too much around the neck as it said to cut out for the interfacing. You don’t cut it from the pattern, you leave it on and then cut another piece for the interfacing, separately.. Luckily I made the mistake on a toile. My toile fitted perfectly so I was lucky as I don’t know how to adjust patterns. I am a size 14 and made a large. There are lots of examples of other sewists successes with the patterns on the Internet. I have made the Esme tunic too and am making another. This garment is easy to make.

Great book - really excellent cuts/designs/ideas
Great book - really excellent cuts/designs/ideas. My only criticism is that the paper patterns that are included have been printed over each other (presumably to save space). Which makes transferring them really time consuming and fiddly. Shame - because when I have made up the designs the results have been just beautiful. Jansdotter really knows how to design to flatter any body shape.

A beautiful book with beautiful clothes to make
Utterly thrilled by this book. I have yet to try the patterns but spent many happy hours perusing it over Christmas. It is so refreshing to find a designer wearing her own hand-made clothes and also getting her friends to wear them - thereby seeing real people and not stick-thin models wearing the clothes. The photography is inspirational and the book is all about her timeless designs made to fit real people who have to do real work. The whole book is a joy to look at and I can't wait to have the time to do some sewing.

Love, love that book
Love, love that book, I made the best pair of trousers I had for a very long time. The patterns are excellent and so precise, you finish with garments you want to wear again, again and again. I have done 2 tops, a pair of trousers, ready for a third top, the yoga bag-great- and will make another dress for the summer. If it is your style, you won't regret it . I LOVE that book.

Love it but watch out for sizing...
I treated myself to this book and I just love it, the clothes are simple yet stylish and beautifully wearable. I have made one of the tunics and it was so easy to construct and looks fabulous - just like the pictures. Copying the patterns is slightly tedious but only really has to be done once and is simple enough. The only downside I have found is that the sizes are quite small, I wear a UK size 12-14 but according to my actual measurements on the chart provided I am an XL which is the biggest pattern size in the book, so if you are a larger lady it might not be such a good buy.

I've really enjoyed this book. The photography is beautiful and it is overall very inspiring. I've made 3 of the garments and am pleased with them all. The patterns have minimal pieces which is great for the busy seamstress and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

The patterns are simple yet they have style. Unfortunately if you're looking for plus size fitting it will be necessary to do some adjusts. The sewing instructions are easy to follow.
