Review: The Best Crochet Hooks I Have Used - Quite simply, Clover Amour crochet hooks are the best I have ever used. They are comfortable to hold for me - I use a knife grip. They are extremely smooth and yarn slides easily over the hook with no snagging at all, which makes crocheting quick and easy. I would not buy any other brand of hook, they are definitely worth the price paid.
Review: The only crochet hooks I use, they're fabulous! - I bought my first Clover Amour hooks from desertcart when I'd been crocheting about a year. I'm not an impulse purchaser, especially not for something that is relatively pricey, so I'd done my research thoroughly and I literally could not find a negative review or experience about these hooks. I bought the set and it was one of the best decisions I made. They have a shorter, shaped and rounded handle than some (about 4"/10cm) but I find that it sits comfortably in my hand and my thumb automatically falls onto the flat thumb grip (I have a knife hold). The handle is of a non-slip material with an imperceptible "give" so that even if you grip the hook hard there is cushioning for the joints in your hand. The hook part is very smooth and easy to use - I'm a tight crocheter but the gently pointed top of the hook is easy to insert into my stitches. The overall length is about 51/2"/14cm. Buying these hooks was a game-changer for me, in fact I'm so used to them that I struggle to use any other hooks, even other ergonomic ones that look similar. So when I mislaid my 3.5mm I replaced it without a second thought. I use DK yarn and find that I tend to use the 3.5mm, 4mm and 4.5mm most of all depending on the particular yarn/stitch combo in my project. Typically, my errant hook turned up a few days later so I now have a spare, just in case!

**Q: Is this good for a complete beginner? My friend gave me a 3mm metal hook to try and I'm finding it difficult to use.**
A: They are very comfortable to use, much more so than metal hooks. However if you are a complete beginner a 3mm hook is probably too small to start with. In the UK most crochet projects using double knit weight wool/yarn (the most common weight of yarn) use a 4mm or a 4.5mm hook. So I would recommend you get a Clover Amour hook in either of those 2 sizes rather than the 5mm here. I'd also recommend using Youtube tutorials to learn the crochet basics, you can go at your own pace, pause, rewind. Good luck, it's a really fun and addictive skill to have.

**Q: Several people have mentioned that these hooks arE better than all metal hooks but are they better than the knit pro crochet hooks. Thank you.**
A: I think these are the best crochet hooks on the market. Found the hook on the Knitpro too rounded and quite difficult to use with some projects.

Oh my!!! It’s like crocheting with butter. So silky smooth. The handle is very comfortable, and the length of the hook is perfect. No more fighting with yarn. Great value for money. Within five minutes of using this I bought the set.
