Course teeth for rip and fine teeth for crosscut. **Q: Is the blade sharpenable?** A: Not sharpenable, the steel on these saws is quite thin (due to the fact it is a “pull” saw). It cuts on the pull stroke not the push stroke (like most tradition western style saws) This allows a very thin kerf and quite fine saw set. The steel quality is excellent, so they hold an edge for a very long time. If it had very heavy use daily use and you found it blunt, usually you replace the blade rather than sharpen this style of saw.
