It’s all in the preparation. Read the instructions carefully
This product is brilliant as long as it’s used correctly. I’ve used Zinsser products before but not this particular one. I had some stone window sills ( previously painted with masonry paint) to re-paint and they were pretty flaky and chipped. Having spent a day with a scraper removing all the loose paint I decided I needed to prime the surface before applying more masonry paint. I checked out Zinsser because their products are usually excellent and came across this. So having read all the instructions you do need to prepare the surfaces well before using. I’d already removed the flaky paint so I needed to sand with a rough sandpaper and wash them off with my chosen cleaner to remove all grease and dirt and any mould and moss needed treatment too. Please note this product does not work on surfaces that are damper than 14 %. You can check with a damp meter. So wherever you are using it you must deal with any damp issues first. If you don’t your top paint surface will bubble. On opening the tin the peel stop is the consistency of milk. It needs to be this thin so it creeps under any raised edges to stick them down and stop them peeling. It applies really well with a brush and has great adhesion as long as you’ve done the preparation. The coverage is fantastic…it goes a long way. It dries in two to four hours depending on the weather. I found it was dry in two as it was warm and sunny. You can get away with one coat but if your surfaces are bad you can apply two. You are left with a slightly shiny surface. I left the window sills overnight and then applied two coats of masonry paint. The results were excellent. I had no bubbling, no peeling and despite the sills being over 120 years old they look great. I’m definitely going to try this on my bathroom ceiling as that does have a tendency to peel. So in conclusion this is a great product that does what it says it will as long as you follow the instructions and don’t apply on surfaces that require damp treatment.

Peeling paint's a thing of the past thanks to Peel Stop.
This product was a game changer and an absolute God send after my recent disaster painting our kitchen ceiling. What started off as a simple job soon proved otherwise. The paint on my ceiling started to come off on multiple places whilst using a roller. After purchase, my Peel Stop arrived the next day and I was up the ladder within 10 minutes of it's arrival, painting over the bubbled / peeled areas having read and adhered to the clear instructions on the tin. As promised, I was able to start painting again 2 hours after applying the Peel Stop and this time there was no bubbling or peeling of the paint, crisis averted! The sealing of the old paint was great and has allowed a perfectly smooth application of the new Dulux Kitchen paint and I am now back in my wife's good books. The Peel Stop has a milky colour to it when applying so it is easy to see where you have applied to make sure that you haven't missed anywhere, there is very minimal odour and a little really does go a long way as the thickness is slightly runny which makes very easy to to apply with either a brush and / or roller. I nearly ordered the 2.5l but the 1l tin was more than enough for our 8 x 4m kitchen ceiling and the tin is still more than half full so I will be moving on to the upstairs bathroom next, incredible value for money and a great quality product.

Adequate
This is okay, does the job of stopping peeling to a large, but not compete extent and is over hyped on social media

Total lifesaver!!
Total lifesaver!!! I will be using this before any painting from now on whether it needs it or not! 😅 I was struggling to paint over some old paint and even after sanding/cleaning it was bubbling. This stuff went on like a dream and the new paint went on so easy! Good coverage, so easy to use and dries really quickly. 10/10

So far so good
I bought this to help revive some old garage doors. The pale green colour doors (see photos) was before. Dark patches had started to show through, paint was worn and peeling all over, they looked shabby and tired. Although I quite like the rustic look, this was a bit too far! And they were only getting worse. So, on a dry sunny day I roughly sanded everything back, removed as much flakey paint as possible and then gave 2 coats of this. I was happy with the application, it was easy to use, dried quickly in the sunshine and was ready to recoat within a couple of hours. The paint is a little thin and runny which is why I did two coats, I felt more confident I’d got the coverage needed. The paint edges seem to have sealed and it’s given a great base coat. Since then we’ve had non stop rain (typical!), but my plan is to wait for a free, dry day and then repaint with the original green top colour. First coats of this stuff have held up well in the horrendous wet weather! Fingers crossed and hoping it’s a good fix to help the old garage doors last a little longer.
