As long as you really like coffee this is the one for you. It will give you that little boost mid ride,you do need to wash it down with a little water as like most gels it sticks in your mouth.

The flavour is like a poor quality cold brew coffee, but the effectiveness with the caffeine was worth it. Helped me to stay alert without feeling wired, and no side affects such as racing heart beat.

These gels pack in a big wollop of caffeine (about a triple espresso) together with a decent dose of quickly absorbed carbohydrate to help fuel long distance endurance. The taste and texture is pretty decent; I wouldn't eat one for a fun snack, but for a pick me up on a long run, they do the job and don't leave a horrible aftertaste or thirst. Not quite sure why you would take one before a run; a cup of sugary coffee would do the job at a fraction of the price. On the go though, these gels do a good job. I took one four hours into the second day of a mountain marathon when I was struggling to even move my legs uphill and within 15 minutes I felt a real burst of energy. Note the science helpfully set out in the product description suggests much of this effect could be psychological, as the required dose to reach the levels that effect athletic performance would be three gels for me. Final note of caution, as with all gels, but particularly so given the caffeine content - be sure to try out on a shorter run, when you are close to facilities before using in a long event or race due to the potential digestive distress if the formulation doesn't agree with your system.

Es hält was es verspricht. Schmeckt auch nach Espresso, aber der Nachgeschmack kann etwas zu intensiv werden. Daher beim Lauf immer mit einem Schluck Wasser einnehmen. Vor allem während eines (Halb-)Marathons oder Triathlons.

Throw them in your vest or pocket. Great taste and a good clean kick during training or a race.
