When the package arrived from Amazon, I could smell the roasted sunflower seeds through the box, what a wonderful aroma! They are perfectly roasted and lightly salted (not overly salty, just the right amount). They come in a large heavy plastic bag inside a box, so I transferred them to smaller glass and plastic containers with tight lids to keep them fresh. They are extremely fresh to start, and very, very flavorful! The roasting is what gives them such flavor and delightful smell. Quite delicious by themselves, or mixed into a trail mix! I make a trail mix with roasted pecans, honey roasted cashews and dried cherries, and I then have added some of these roasted and salted sunflower seeds to it ~ scrumptious and hard to stop eating! Very pleased with my purchase, and highly recommend!

I love sunflower nuts and eat some every day. It's one of the healthier things I do for myself. I love them on salads and by themselves as a snack. I had been buying the raw ones, but decided to give these a try. OMG!!! They are delicious! I've purchased the 18 lb. bag twice now and will continue to do so as long as they are available this way. They arrive fresh and stay that way as long as they last. I store them in large tupperware containers and freeze them. I have to watch my salt intake and these are not overly salty. I can tell that they are salted, but I have had none of the water retention problems I usually have with salty foods (I am plagued with CHF and these seeds cause me no problems whatsoever). Even though these seeds are not available on subscription (I wish they were!!!), the cost is still very reasonable. Thanks, Amazon, for making them available!

I love this product. Sunflower seeds are a great snack, fabulous in salads, and wonderful in baked goods. They provide crunch, tons of vitamin B, and have a wonderful savory flavor. I especially like them with no salt as you can really taste the seed then, not just the salt on them. I use them everyway possible, so I like to keep them on hand for snacking, bread baking and mixing into trail mix or granola. These from Good Sense are reasonably priced and come in a pack of 12 so I'm never worried about a huge, open package going stale. Great buy.

I bought these because suddenly they are hard to find, or expensive. These are fresh and tasty and a good price. My only complaint is that they come in a pack of 12 bags, and this batch was dated for use by November. I live alone, so that's a lot of sunflower seeds to eat! I wish they would offer them in a variety of pack sizes. It wou;d be better for me to have a pack of 4-6. Otherwise, I'm happy with them.

I love these healthy sunflower kernels. My wife and I eat them almost daily. We buy a dozen bags, break the seal, and freeze them in vacuum storage bags. They last for months, and stay fresh. The first box we bought had six broken bags and six unbroken. All tasted fresh. All four bags on the bottom of the box were broken, two on the middle layer, and none on the top. The second box were all broken, and did not taste fresh. Hence the three star rating on freshness. I wish the manufacturer would take more care, and prepare the product for rough handling for Amazon. Shipping bags would not suffice, the seeds are too heavy, but they could use foam peanuts or something. I give the shipper two stars. Mark it fragile. ADDENDUM next day. The first order had just a few broken, and it appeared to be on "last mile" handling since the seeds were fresh smelling and tasting. ALL the bags were broken on the second order and tasted older and stale. This indicated to me that they had been broken while in storage, I guess at warehouse.

This product arrived in an Amazon box with the manufacturer’s box within the Amazon box and inside the manufacturer’s box was a very thick plastic bag containing the seeds that was twisted closed and held in place with a very large thick bread loaf type clip. These seeds weren’t going anywhere and there was no way the bag was going to explode unless someone cut thru two boxes. I was impressed. The seeds had an expiration date out one year and they are very crunchy and taste great. Now, if only good sense would bring back bulk pumpkin seeds, I’d be ecstatic!

My local grocery and delivery orders were always out of sunflower kernels, so one day I just decided to get the bulk pack. It's been a few months and we're nearly through the package, but it's daunting! Flavor is great, salt is a touch heavy but easily remedied, and freshness is there - like I said, it's been a few months, but they keep well.

This is a fine product. It's nutritious and reasonably priced. I'm a vegetarian and have been eating this particular brand for several years. The nuts I've received from Amazon's site have always been fresh and crunchy. At around sixteen to seventeen dollars per box of 12 bags I consider it a worthwhile purchase There are approximately 7 servings per bag. The nuts provide 6 grams of protein per serving (1/4 cup). The sodium is 130 mg per serving and total fat is 15 grams per serving. I'm dismayed that for many months this product is no longer available from Amazon. I would like to see it offered here again.
