Good belt. Buckle needs optimising
Pros: Worn the black version for several months with a belt pouch for a mobile phone and fully loaded pockets , circa 3kg of pocket carry. It has not deformed, frayed or torn. Works well with 40mm belt loopsCons:The security of the buckle in the track is poor. It frequently slips and comes loose needing tightening.TLDRGreat belt that stays smart with heavy daily use and still fits formal wear if needed . Buckle needs improvement to maintain a secure fit

Pants Round Your Ankles
Bought this after searching a long time, I figured the price would incorporate quality. In some respects it does, the materials are good, looks pretty durable BUT after cutting it to size and fitting it together I'm finding that the metal ratchet mechanism doesn't securely grip the plastic ridges of the inner belt … result the belt continually loosens off and the future may end up seeing me with my pants around my ankles at a most inappropriate moment…..funny but not good.I hope this is not used by military personal? Having your pants continually around your ankles without warning on a 30 mile jaunt isn't my idea of a great idea or crawling through the freezing cold mud on your belly and suddenly unable to do anything about it you find yourself in your skiddies and extra cold in a very anatomically inappropriate condition! On the whole I have to say I'm not too pleased with this belt, it's a chunk of £40 I could well of done without losing and I'm unable to return it as it's not faulty and I've already cut it to size so it's not in its original condition. Needless to say I cannot recommend buying it.

Great belt
First things first, being British I don't carry a gun, I don't do Airsoft and I'm not someone who wants to dress up as a soldier.. But I love this belt.I've seen a few of these belts that close with a ratchet and they seemed like a good idea, this is the first I've tried and I'm absolutely sold on the idea, after cutting the belt to size it fits perfectly as when you do it up it fits to the nearest tooth, about 5mm each, instead of the nearest hole, it can also be adjusted on the go really easily and discretely if it's loose or tight, you just push it tighter or press the release lever briefly to loosen without having to pull the tongue out.The belt looks like a webbing belt, so it's quite casual, but the finish is good and the buckle itself is quite unusual with rough enamel sort of finish that I really like and looks very durable. The belt feels incredibly strong, I was able to cut it to length with kitchen shears, but I really can't imagine circumstances in which you'd be able to snap it in anything like normal use, the buckle to feels very durable it's heavy, all metal and again I can't imagine it breaking. One thing to be aware of is that this belt is considerably stiffer than any other I've worn, this is actually a good thing, it's still very comfortable but the stiffness of the belt means that if you have anything threaded on your belt, in my case my ever present Swiss Army Knife in it's pouch, the belt doesn't come out of the loops under the weight of it and deposit whatever you were carrying on the floor when you undo the belt, a minor point for most people but a big plus in my book!I am going to say that this isn't a cheap belt and there are a lot of cheaper options out there, but I think the quality of this item is actually high enough to justify the price.

Not quite the quality I'd expect for the price.
If you're after a thick rigid belt, this meets the criteria, but that's about it for me.In the box you get the belt, which is admittedly very long and possibly more designed for the American market with the ample girth. You get the metal buckle arrangement, a small leather belt loop, spare screws and an Allen key for them, plus instructions.Assembly is quite simple, you have inch markings on the inside and you need just cut it down to around 6-8" longer than you need, the amount a normal belt usually goes past itself. You cut the rough end down to length, insert it into the metal buckle, tighten up the screws and add the belt loop. The belt is a nylon outer to a card-type middle. It's tough to cut with scissors and you'll need sturdy sharp kitchen ones and strong hands. The rest is comparatively simple to put together. The result is a very rigid belt that would take something hanging off it without the belt twisting much, if at all. IN the UK this would be camera gear rather than a gun holster in the pictures. The belt slips into the buckle and an indented set of teeth in the belt meet with the buckle ratchet to keep it closed. You need to press the small catch on the inside of the buckle to release it.All's good until you consider the following drawbacks - which may or may not result in the 3 star rating.1. If you're large enough to need anywhere near the full length of this belt, you've likely got a bit of stomach. A bulky and angular belt buckle won't be comfortable and getting your finger inside to release the catch may be a little awkward.2. The material inside is card-like and won't be keeping shape once wet. Seeing as the internal teeth section cut into the card, which is also exposed at the end of the belt itself, you'll not be wanting to get this wet.Overall it's not bad, but I'd have much preferred a waterproof inner at this price, and possibly a less complicated and bulky buckle arrangement.
