A perfect solution to an inconvenient problem
Whenever I want to purchase from any online vendor, I first check the most recent two years of negative reviews. Most of the time, that seals my decision not to buy. In this case, I still decided to give the Loona a try. We live in an old three-bedroom house with one bathroom. Now that I'm older, it has become most inconvenient not to have access to the bathroom when it is direly needed. I didn't really want to make my own chamber pot, but I was desperate to come up with something. Lo and behold, the Loona appeared in my online searches. The design seemed clever and smart, well thought out to fit a woman's body. I bought one a month ago but didn't have to use it until today. (I've been setting my alarm in the mornings to wake me up before the men in my family start to get ready for their day.) As I had read that several women found the Loona not to fit well, others being embarrassed by leaks and messes, I ran to my laundry room where I kept the Loona in a cupboard. Threw an old towel on the floor. I'm heavier than I should be-- a size 16-18 when I should be a 12-14 for my height and age, so the heavy ladies' reviews were a concern. Oh, my. The experience was perfect. Perfect. There was no sound, no leaks, no mess. This made me question the negative reviews for this product because I had the exact opposite experience as those customers. There was no need to bend over (what?), just bend the knees slightly. Perhaps knee bending isn't even necessary. I will check on that next time. When I emptied the urinal later, the flexible top was tightly fit but fairly easy to lift with careful effort. I'm glad that it fits tightly. The entire process from start to cleaning was easy with no problems at all. I'm so pleased to be able to give a product found on Amazon a 5-star review!

So much better than using disposable cups!! Why the heck did I wait??😂
Fair warning - there may be TMI in this review - but really ladies let's be honest, OK? Because I know there are more ladies out there were they only need incontinence protection overnight due to not making it to their bathroom during the middle of the night! You know - you are pregnant or just had a child, or you have walking issues (crutches, cast, etc.), or you are now in perimenopause, menopause or are postmenopausal.. Or for some reason no matter how much you exercise that pelvic floor it ain't working... Yes this is for you! & I'm wondering "Why did I wait so long to get one of these???" - I'm telling you ladies that feeling to rush to the bathroom - only to not make it halfway there & now your pants are soaking wet? And you still got to go more? Or you wear incontinence panties or pads or liners hoping they'll hold it all by the time you get to the bathroom? This product is great! It holds a full 30 oz of fluid (per the info on the box).. Not sure you need to hold that much or not sure how much you empty out between your bed & the toilet? Before I ordered this, I started using disposable plastic cups the 18 oz variety - & discovered, that though the cups did catch most, many times I needed a second cup, because I didn't want to fill the cup to the top! (that will create a mess) & then I had to have tp near by to wipe because cups do not catch all the drips clinging onto the skin because cups are not as close & being it's dark, it wasn't always in place... Oops cups are messy but they're better than getting soaked by the time you reach the toilet. Then after using those cups, there's no lid so you are sleeping next to your urine on the nightstand - & then you have to carry it to your bathroom... & then if you have pets - good luck with them not being curious or knocking it over! 🙀🙀😒 I found this product to be very easy to use, it has a light softness, a silicone top to place up against your woohaw & then you can use it to wipe excess drops or drips by gently pulling it forward against that area. Unlike the cups I was using - it was easy to hold & simple to use. It seems quite durable & I was able to put the lid on (which means no urine odor to smell while sleeping) & I actually set it on the floor close to my bed, instead of the nightstand - it really means less likely to get knocked over by a pillow, my arm or my cat. It was so fast. I was able to go back to sleep & when I finally woke for the day, I took it to my bathroom, opened the toilet lid & poured the fluid in the toilet bowl. Closed the toilet lid, flushed the toilet & rinsed out the container, I added just a drop or two of Dawn liquid detergent soap & some water, swished it around real good then rinsed it. Set it on the steps to take back up to my bedroom later on & now it will be good to go for tonight! For me the extra features are the ease of holding it, the slight curve so it catches the stream & the drops, the wider base at the bottom makes it very stable - harder to knock over than a disposable cup, has a lid to keep odor away. Very easy to clean & transport.

Great for camping
This is a well thought out and durable way for women to urinate while camping. It’s been effective and easy to use. The gray is opaque and not embarrassing to carry into a public restroom for dumping. Portable and easy to wash, also. The cover seem secure and the rubber “rest” is soft and helps avoid spills.

Significant design flaws with this device- buyer beware!
First the good: I like the design and the size. Now the bad: first, the lid does NOT snap on. I tried this first by filling partially with water (maybe a cup?) and holding it on it's side over my sink. It immediately started leaking and the lid worked itself off. This is important to me because I need it while boondocking in our truck bed camper in public places like parking lots- sometimes I need to drive somewhere else to dump it and the device could easily fall over while driving. The second part, which is the real deal breaker for me, is that there's no way to empty this in any kind of sanitary way. One must pry off the silicone funnel from the top, which had I used this for its intended purpose, would of course have urine on it. THEN the vessel can be dumped out and washed. Of course, the whole time you're left holding the dirty silicone funnel...which also needs washed. Overall, very unhappy with my purchase, and of course I had already recycled the box so I can't return it. Anyone want a $40 vase?

WOW!

This is so good. I wouldn’t be without it in our campervan. No drips or spills and it looks just like a vase, rather than a pee pot. If I ever lost it, I’d purchase another one immediately and can’t recommend it highly enough.

This was purchased for an international trip that included overnight stays in hotels without ensuite toilets. As a female travelling alone who wasn't sure whether I would be safe venturing out of my room in the middle of the night, I bought this item as a precaution. It ended up being a godsend when I fell unwell as it saved me from having to stumble out of my hotel room to find a loo down the corridor when achy and dizzy. My room had a basin so I could empty/rinse the urinal, and - despite drinking a lot to stay hydrated - this device meant I didn't need to leave my room at all for the 36 hours that I was most unwell. Needless to say, I was very grateful to have had this with me. It's very lightweight and therefore easy to slip into a suitcase when travelling. It looks more like a vase than a urinal. I agree with someone else who said it looks a bit like a bottle of washing detergent. It fits female anatomy well and can be used without contact or drips (the soft silicon seal around the rim is excellent). It is sufficiently capacious to empty a full bladder into. It's very easy to rinse clean. If you're looking for a discreet, easy to use and hygienic solution to being caught short, this one comes highly recommended.

This item is very well designed and simple to clean. It doesn't tip over easily, the lid prevents most leakage if it is knocked over, and it looks a lot better and less embarrassing (in case somebody else would see it) than an old peanut butter jar or yoghurt container, never mind those stupid "medical" types that have no effective lid at all. It is also purpose built and the shape makes it very easy to use. The silicone lip is convenient and comfortable and being silicone it will hopefully keep its shape. I agree with other posters that the price is too high and that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Surely it could be sold for $50 or even $60. I'm still really glad I bought it though.
