My 45-lb American lab mix fits with a bit of extra room so you'll probably be able to get away with a bit larger of a breed depending on their size and build. **Q: what is the difference between the options xlarge with measurement v. without?** A: Our large measures 33” wide and 43” long and that is only the usable laying area. The legs extend longer. And ours are large and our dogs are 100 lbs and have plenty of room. But these beds do sag a lot all the way down to the floor . There are better beds that don’t sag as much . And same price or cheaper **Q: The sizes are misleading, what are the exact sizes if a large vs a x large bed please provide lxwxd** A: The large is 43.5x31x7 on the actual sleeping area/surface of the bed. The legs take it to 51.5x31x7. I own 2 large beds but not the XL. I have a 60lb shepherd mix that sleeps on it & she has more than enough room on the large bed.
