It adjusts high enough to be comfortable (I'm 5'6"), the bench area is large enough, there is a lever to fold the sturdy base easily. It seems like Wolfcraft thought of everything. On the whole, it's miles better than my old B&D workbench & it's better made, too, as with many German manufactured products. Organising the screw/bolt/washer sizes, to assemble it properly, was about the only thing that was taxing. I would highly recommend this purchase for any DIYer. Review: Fairly satisfied but could have been happier. - I originally considered a B&D workmate but the poor reviews put me off. The positive reviews for this item swung the deal. A perfect example of this workbench would merit 5 stars but mine arrived in a damaged box and once built an hour later, the height adjustment didn't operate due to corrosion inside the frames. Rather than dismantle and return the item, I lubricated the members and applied some considerable force to get the action working after a fashion. After the oil had penetrated some hours later, it became obvious that the action is spring assisted. It seems the spring had seized. Oiling seems to have cured the defect but I will give it a few more days and keep testing before I decide whether I keep it or it goes back for a replacement. Regarding the item itself, at full height it's high enough to let me work without bending. It has a large work surface and seems stable enough for most normal activities. The build instructions could be clearer but once you realise there's text to go with the diagrams it all becomes clear.
