I bought it as a gift for my wife and it sounds so good that I bought a 2nd one for me. Good sound quality, BUT... I cannot connect either one of them to bluetooth. My phone connects easily to other BT items, but will NOT connect to either of these units and THAT sucks vinegar through a paper straw/ UPDATE; AFTER BEING CONTACTED BY klim CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OFFERED A FULL REFUND, I declined the refund and they worked through a few troubleshooting options, but it still would not connect. In summary, my phone was not updating firmware automatically. I updated my phone's firmware and ((SHAZAAM!)) it connected to the KLIM bluetooth immediately. This review started at 3 stars, ending at 5 stars for product quality and some awesome customer service.

Purchased this Klim B4 boombox as a portable adjunct to my larger home units based on the excellent reviews and the product description. For the most part it is an excellent product except for one detail which I will get out of the way now - occasionally the CD skips during tracks even on clean undamaged discs. I contacted Klim (which includes a 5 year warranty - good move!) and they promptly sent me a replacement at their expense. However there is some skipping on the new unit albeit not as much so I will live with this. The CD player by the way is top loading which I find better than the tray or slot-in players that have flooded the market. That said the sound is fine and the front digital display shows both the track number and the timing of said track. However I am pleased to report that the B4's other features are outstanding. Let's star with the remote. When i saw this little remote I seriously wondered whether it was truly a full function remote. I can happily say that it is. It controls all functions and lets you seamlessly go from one to another in a flash. You can also use the numerical keys to select radio stations and the B4 will automatically remember the last one you had on. Both AM and FM reception is flawless - the antenna though must be pulled up first before you can rotate it - be careful here. The Bluetooth function works just fine with quick and easy connection and sounds fine. The downside is that there are not track numbers displayed - you must refer to your phone or tablet for this. The unit has duplicate controls on top of it on the right and left. I personally find the remote easier to use though. I have not yet tried the USB so cannot comment- the port is on the right side of the unit. The B4 is solidly built of very hard plastic and has a large carry handle making it easy to transport. One huge plus with this product is the built-in rechargeable battery. You do not have to remove it - just plug it in to recharge and it is ready to go. I wish other portable boomboxes had this feature. Soundwise the unit is fine for its size - you won't raise the roof but the volume is more than adequate for a medium sized room and there is a sound adjuster for various modes of music which help a bit but don't make a huge difference. There is no cassette player but for me not a deal breaker. So I would rate the Klim B4 a safe economical bet for a portable music unit. Hopefully the CD won't be an issue - if not then much enjoyment should be had from this unit. And the 5 year warranty is a plus.

I replaced a Sony boom box with this one, and right out of the box, the KLIM box is superior. The sound in the Sony was embarrassingly tinny. This unit sounds much better, from the volume to the equalization filter. Unlike the Sony, the KLIM box tells you which CD cut is playing. The controls are easy to understand. The remote is, too. And this unit uses a built-in rechargeable battery. I have a lot of MP3 CDs - I collect old radio shows - and they work fine too. Best of all, KLIM units have a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY, which gives me confidence that any problems will be dealt with.

Do not buy. The internal power supply transformer will burn out shortly after the warranty period expires. Even if you know how to repair, its not worth the replacement cost. The original is 16.5W which is under rated for the device. I could not find a correct replacement part in the US market. The rated power of the unit (label on bottom, see the picture) states 26W. The internal transformer's secondary winding output is 11v A/C @ 1.5 amps. 11x1.5 = 16.5 watts (see the picture). The internal transformer is rated at 63% of the unit's stated power requirements. As a result after one year my internal transformer secondary winding shorted out. It is not economical to purchase a replacement transformer of the correct capacity. A secondary winding output of 12 v A/C @ 2 amps = 24 W (no center tap) would probably work if you can find one. 16.5W definitly does not. Otherwise everything works fine. I tested the unit out with 12V A/C connected directly to the board. Still works like a champ, sounds great, but it's not worth it to buy a properly rated 12V A/C 2 amp = 24 Watt replacement transformer. The closest you can get are 24 volt A/C units for LED lighting systems, around 48.00 each. Most have a split secondary tap and are not appropriate. You get only half the rated output at 12v from the center tap so you'll burn that one out too.

The CD player on my ancient boom box stopped working so I decided to get this one. It's compact, the sound quality is good enough, and it does the job when I can get it to work. Sometimes the electronic controls don't cycle thru the expected menu, but display something else entirely. The power cord also comes out of the back of the player very easily. So not great, but perhaps good enough.

This is the 3rd boombox I have purchased recently. The two other brands I purchased before this one had very low quality sound and would not bring in local AM stations. I was almost afraid to order this one, but it is a quality product with excellent sound, and it brings in the local AM stations I like. The price was reasonable compared to others I looked at. I also like the rechargeable battery. It took a bit for me to get used to where the controls were and how to use them, but instructions were included to help me out on that.

A great boombox! It originally came without a remote control but the seller came through instantly and made it right, sending us a replacement before we’d had a chance to send the original unit back! I wish all Amazon sellers were this responsive! The boombox itself is terrific and the remote means my son can turn it off easily.
