I already owned the H7 heart rate monitor, but didn't like having to take my phone with my every time I exercised, so hoped this would work well in its place, as well as track my steps and sleep. It does a pretty good job, though is not without its faults.On the plus side:- battery life is good, typically lasting about 7 days- I haven't had any major issues with syncing. My iPhone struggled to sync at first, but I solved that by switching Bluetooth on my phone off and on again. I was probably also being a bit impatient - it can take a minute or two to sync- the accompanying app is pretty good. I also have My Fitness Pal, which the Polar app will feed in to, giving me an easy way to track calories consumed and used.- the sleep monitoring is relatively basic (my wife's Up is notably more detailed) but it does me.On the downside:- the main issue for me is the strap.- the whole body/strap is one piece of plastic, which you have to cut to the right length. If you cut it too short, it's curtains. Doing it gradually may be a pain, but probably worthwhile (not that I did!)- the strap closes by means of a metal clasp. To open it, you have to pinch a button on each side. At first the buckle rarely came undone accidentally, but I suspect it has worn over time, as it is pretty common now. E.g. when I'm exercising and bend my wrist, that can push my watch on to one of the buttons and flip the clasp open. Not a major issue, but annoying when I've just started a set.- it's a little bulkier than I'd like. It just about hides under double cuff shirt sleeves (no problem with single cuff).Overall- It's not that sophisticated, but what it does, it does pretty well, and very few of these trackers will sync with a proper chest strap monitor which is a big boon to me- As I say, the main problem is the strap. It wouldn't stop my buying it again, but I'd like Polar to sort it in the next model (and maybe add better sleep functionality) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Activity Tracker for Water Babies *by P***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2016* I purchased my Polar Loop 2 in January 2016 as my main activity is an early morning swim, five days a week. My choices were limited to devices that were waterproof rather than just splash proof. Initially I was a bit worried about trimming the strap to the correct size, obviously if you get it wrong it renders the device useless, my worry was totally unnecessary, the measuring template and clear instructions are very easy to follow. I downloaded the Polar software on my PC to register and update the device. I then downloaded the Polar Flow app on my iphone, I found it difficult and frustrating to sync with my apple device, after several attempts to sync I connected the device to my PC and restored the factory settings, this rectified the problem. All I need to do now is complete my activity, click the app on my apple device, once the app opens swipe down on your iphone and allow the app to sync data with service, next press and hold down the touch button on your Polar Loop 2 until the LED display goes off, again swipe downwards on your apple device then the Polar Loop syncs with the app, giving you all the statistics and graphs that chart your progress instantly on your mobile device including the type on nights sleep you had. The other problem I encountered was somehow with too many presses on the button on my Polar Loop 2, I managed to activate flight mode, this too would prevent the polar syncing with my apple device. It really is easy when you know how. The fact my Polar Loop lets me know when in my office I have been sitting too long is an added bonus, as is the alarm that wakes me and the notifications I have a call on my iphone etc. All in all I rate the device 5 stars as for the past 5 weeks my other half says it's my boss because I wear it 24/7 apart from the odd charge twice a week, I am also encouraged to walk more to increase my number of steps to ensure over 10k per day, it has helped me push myself for amazing results, the Polar Loop 2 in pink looks pretty and quite feminine, I read in reviews before I purchased my Polar Loop 2 the strap discolours, my strap has been worn for over 5 weeks (25 X 30min swims) and is exactly the same colour as the day it arrived, I did think the chlorine may affect it but clearly it has not, I cannot comment on the other colours, all in all I do love my Polar Loop 2 device and would highly recommend it. There may be more expensive versions available but this does the job it was purchase for and so much more.
