Although the footnote text font is smaller, it is still large enough to read; at least, larger than many standard versions. The only negative: It has been (and still is) hard to find a protective cover to accommodate the unique size of this Bible. It is thick, and the 2.5" dimension stated in the description is relatively valid, but in a more relaxed state it's nearly 2.75" thick. I think due to it's size and relative weight, I will be more inclined to keep it at home; not necessarily bring it to church with me. Overall, it is very well organized and is definitely my favorite bible. I'm not a traditional KJ version fan, but the NKJ is actually a great translation, accurate and very easy to understand.
