We use it by the hot tub and it’s so much nicer to step out on to the mat. Going to get another as working well in wet area!

It's only been a month but it's what I was looking for my deck. My new composite pvc recommends no rubber products as they will stain the deck, finding a vinyl option just wasn't available in my local area and difficult to find even online. So with an elderly dog who was slipping on the steps or stepping off and on the landing,safety was important. The mat arrived within a couple days and was in a large roll. The inner end was slightly curled, but after laying outside in sun for few days it was flat. I cut it to add smaller strips on the steps or whatever shape or size you need. I recommend an edge/board etc to follow, I'm not the best at keeping straight freehand. Those cut ends lay flat. So far, the mat hasn't moved at all, even the smaller pieces on the steps..even as my younger lab, Murphy Brown, jump directly up at a run, clearing the steps ( ah, if only they could stay young and pain free forever). Stays in place and the ends have not flipped up either. The rain drains through, the mud and dirt seems to wash off with the rain and /or sun drying it out..so despite dirty paw prints, they seem to be gone in a few days. It feels fine on my bare feet to walk on it or stand briefly. I've seen comments on this type od product and others about not comfy on feet, it's not carpet or memory foam but it's fine for as much as I'm going to walking across or standing briefly in those areas. It's soft feel not rough. I live in Pennsylvania and its Summer, so I can't say how it will hold up in snow and ice and the change in temperatures, but the mats will stay out all year and I will buy another for the winter for another area to prevent slipping near main walkways due to ice...so we will find out. I'm happy with the mat and it's one of the few options I have eliminating rubber products. I wish it came in a dark brown but the gray works.
