Amazing quality and size. I love the colors and detail, plus the extremely large size. I set up by myself using heavy duty double sided tape, keeping one half rolled up and balanced by a tall stack of books. I get so many compliments on it too. 1000/10

Great map. So glad I got the no-blue-water version, as this one looks really classy in my home office space. I wanted/needed it for planning another round the world SCUBA trip this year and with the lamination I can use dry erase marker on it for that purpose (and readily make changes). You should note: 1) all the negative comments (#1, or 'poor' ratings) seemed to come from people with damaged or missing orders; totally unrelated to the product rating itself but I guess people feel the need to exact a toll on somebody with their anger! 2) This map is big and unwieldy to get mounted. I did what I consider to be a pretty nice job and all told it took me about 3 hours and I needed a helper for the last 30 minutes, 3) I'm very, very glad I got the double laminated version. Again, it is very large and somewhat difficult to handle solo. Translation: you might end up seriously creasing or even tearing it if you're not careful. The lamination helps prevent that. So if you dig maps, I can't imagine you wouldn't be happy with this purchase.

We had a large corkboard and we tacked this map onto it, and then used push pins to mark every country and area we've visited. It's a fun way to keep track and review your world travels, keeps you aware of geography and can make you want to plan more trips! It's also a fun conversation piece with guests to share travel stories! The colors are nice and it's a clear, nice looking map. The lamination will help preserve it, and it's fun to know we can also mark on it and erase it when/if using it to create a travel plan.

We love this giant laminated world map from Maps International. My cousin has her walls papered with an enormous map from National Geographic. Though beautiful and amazing -- this slightly smaller and laminated one works better for our frequent moves and homeschooling. But by slightly smaller? It's still huge. Look at the measurements in the listing and then measure the wall where you want to put it. We hung it on our wall using 3M velcro tabs. This allowed us to adjust it to get it straight and not put any holes in the map or the wall. We use the world and US maps almost daily as we homeschool. Just this week we read about Marco Polo -- and used a wet erase marker to show the beginning of his journeys. We used a little book sticky arrow to show where Christina Rossetti lived. And we traced the route of Vasco Da Gama around the Cape of Great Hope. We move frequently, and so we look at the US map and talk about where each family member lives -- it helps the kids feel connected. Because of its size, it might not be the best purchase for every family -- but it is my favorite homeschool purchase of the past year!

I realized I only knew 27 countries and wanted to fix that immediately. After looking through the many ugly, classroom map listings, I was pleased to find this one! When the package arrived, I taped it to my bedroom wall so I could look at it when falling asleep, and wake up to double check if I still remembered certain countries. I recommend people who are considering getting this map to double check the text of country and city names in the product images: the spelling may not be what you're used to.

Pretty nice, big honking map of da world! You know where to look, you'll find it... (not sure about Lower Slovbokeia; but i think it's out there, might be hiding). But the reason to get this thing is the box it comes in! man o man. what a box! For example, I've had these lightening rods laying around ... thinking i would put them up, but only time i think about it is during a thunderstorm, but not the best time to be thinking of installing lightening rods. Besides getting wet, i suspect there is some sort of enhanced risk of electrical activity... where was I? Oh, yeah! you can use this map once rolled out & suitably restrained as good maps should be-- I'm thinking of 1/4" plywood backing, but not sure how to attach map to that & that to wall & all the thats gets confusing. So, once you get all that done, it's easy to pick out where you been, where you going, but not so much who you are; I think that takes another map, but I've not found it yet inside the Amazone, here. (I did find the Amazon, though, on the map). Take my word for it, the box is very helpful. Map is pretty sweet, too; rolls back up nicely, kind of fun...

This product is a very well balanced political map, the composition of the cartographic features is well done, the colors sit well with typical indoor wall colors. The lamination is thin, but seems durable enough. I unrolled mine and sandwiched it between two large rugs for a couple of days to get it nice and flat. I forgot it was between the rugs and I walked over it, I pulled back the rug to see if my heavy footsteps had done any damage and the map looked to be unscathed. So it seems pretty tough, and the advantage of the thinner laminate is that it flattens out nicely and can be rolled up again into a tube about the side of a wrapping paper tube.

this map exceeded my expectations. it's printed by a very high quality printer, it's really crisp and clear. the lamination is perfect, not too heavy. i'm quite pleased with this purchase.

COME SI PRESENTA: Fatta bene, ottima stampa ricca di dettagli, lucida e resistente. UTILIZZO: Cercavo una mappa davvero grande per riempire lo spazio tra due porte, volevo che fosse resistente perché volevo utilizzarla senza vetro visto che avrei messo delle bandierine nei luoghi visitati e che fosse piuttosto chiara nella visualizzazione dei vari stati, questa mappa era perfetta. La versione da 2 metri è impegnativa soprattutto dal punto di vista della cornice, sia perché costosa sia da un punto di vista logistico...come faccio a far entrare una cornice da 2 metri per 1,20 in macchina? Ho risolto fabbricandola per conto mio. Anche se non è stato affatto facile alla mappa alla fine ha trovato il suo posto sul muro. PRO: Ottima stampa PRO: materiali resistenti PRO: grafica piacevole PRO: grande CONTRO: l’ eventuale cornice potrebbe costare molto più della mappa LO CONSIGLIO?: Si, ottima qualità e ben fatta.
